I can't decide which one to use, well I can but now my decision is weighed upon continuing support and the site actually staying alive.

I have tried del.icio.us, ma.gnolia, spurl, furl and simpy.

I like the tagging that delicious offers, its simple but missing a few key features such as the ability to search content and archieve a page. Same with mag. Simpy is just like spurl and furl but without categories. Furl without tags. Which brings us to spurl.

I like spurl because you can search the content by string, search by tag or search by category. Unfortunately the delicious integration is dead and the support seems like its faltering. Some say the site is dead, figures its the only service I like, which I'm wondering if i should stay with.

Any comments or suggestions would be great. Thanks

I don't follow what you mean by that. You can search your bookmarks (or everyone's), and find what you're looking for. Or is that not what you mean?

Having said that, I personally use del.icio.us, coupled with the awesome del.icio.us addon for Firefox. It's fast, I can find what I want, and it's free.

I don't use any of them, I like to keep my bookmarks local for quick access and don't get any real excitement out of socially sharing the sites I bookmark.

I'm with Josh. I use del.icio.us.

And not that it's exactly the same thing, but I find WAY more interesting sites with StumbleUpon. It's by far my favorite Firefox extension, and it works as a sort of reverse social bookmarking site - StumbleUpon finds sites for you, and then you tag and keep them.

You can search your tagged sites and can network with other Stumblers with similar interests, searching their sites as well.

But beware, it's addictive like the meth.

I'm with Mike. I dont use social bookmarking sites, and furthermore, I dont get them

I use del.icio.us.

Things I like:-

The excellent Firefox extension.
The network - if you're selective who you put in to your network, the links can be useful.
It's handy that it doesn't matter which computer I'm using, I can always find my bookmarks.
It's quick to use.
It's easy to integrate with just about anything.

I did try some of the others, but they all seemed to be trying to hard to be better than del.icio.us and offered features that just slowed things down and had little value.

I find using del.icio.us with the Firefox extension a much nicer way of managing bookmarks than the built in bookmark handling. Even if you're not interested in the socal aspect of it or the other benefits, this is worth having.

None.

I like furl.net. I messed with some of the others, but I fund that furl works best for me.

del.icio.us over here too, but a great deal is still local, sometimes it's just plain quicker to click in the bookmarks-bar.

I'm a Ma.gnolia man. But I don't use it excessively. I don't like having masses of bookmarks on Safari so I use Ma.gnolia if I find something on my iBook that I want to look at in greater depth on my iMac.

I like the look and feel of Ma.gnolia over Deli.ci.ous (or however!) it feels more polished, I'm not a big fan of the delicious style looks a bit raw for my liking.

I mean't that you cannot search the connects of a page (with delicious) like you can with other services such as spurl or furl.

I am not interested in the social aspect of any of these services at all, I really just like the fact that I can get my bookmarks anywhere. I use many diff computers, of course one might say why not use foxmarks or google sync, well because again it boils down to being able to keyword search CONTENT, tags and categories. Unless such an extension exists for local use i'd like to stick with the online service.

Delicious is the fad, although compared to other services I don't understand why the hell it doesn't adapt and ADD more to it. I guess they figure their popular enough and don't feel like adding cached pages or the ability to search keywords instead of tags and content, oh and categories.

Don't get me wrong I LOVE tagging, however sometimes I may just want to look in a category.

I like and use del.icio.us (on occasion); but I'm more into bookmarking stuff locally.

I'm more into Digg now.

anyone else? I use spurl daily but its support is dead, i want to switch to something else that uses tags, categories and website screenshots.

I have an app on my USB Drive that allows me to carry my bookmarks with me. I don't recall offhand what the app is called.

I just use del.icio.us for my blog. I just tag articles and pages that relate to the subject matter.

Otherwise, I just bookmark locally.

My bookmarks are saved on my Mac. Then I have other bookmarks on my delicious spot. I like that I can "tag" my bookmarks so I can just go through and let's say I pick "beauty", all my bookmarks for "beauty" show up. But I organize my bookmarks into categories. All the blogs I read plus RSS feeds are in one but two folders, shopping, technology... and of course the news.

I keep my frequented bookmarks local, and all of those "I might need to use this some day" bookmarks on del.icio.us. I like del.icio.us because it's simple fast, and easy to manipulate (as in integrating it into other websites/apps). The design isn't the most beautiful, but it gets the job done.

I use a new service that I can't talk about and mix it with local bookmarking for really important items. Back in the days it was an exhausting effort to go from computer to computer with all the bookmarks that you had until Mozilla came out and I could actually email the bookmark file to myself.

*Wonders why people say "I use X...but I can't talk about it..."

I bookmark locally. I do use del.icio.us for unimportant ones that I might want to refer to at some point.

local bookmarks, del.icio.us when i'm not on my home computer. i.e. work, friends place, etc.

I find del.icio.us the most useful. It offers all the features that I need, is quick to load and isn't bloated. But I'm with you guys: StumbleUpon is good for finding sites.

I'm using del.icio.us as well. The new Firefox extension is really quite sweet. It basically takes over the bookmarking functionality of Firefox and connects with del.icio.us

That is to say, your del.icio.us bookmarks act as though they're your Firefox bookmarks. Some people will hate that, but I dig it.

Firefox and (perhaps oddly) Backpack. I use Backpack between work and home already, so its just easier to store them at the same place I store everything else.

I say these things because I know the Eye of White will shine upon such threads and respond accordingly.

I use del.icio.us, just because it was the first I was introduced to. I have a magnolia account but never really got into it. Sure, it's prettier, but I think del.icio.us is bare-bones for a reason: because its purpose is to serve a function. My time spent there is so brief, thanks to the bookmarklet and the tagging system that the layout isn't really an issue for me.

I don't use del.icio.us for social purposes either and seldom look at anyone's links beside my own.

One complaint I have about the del.icio.us tagging system is that each word is its own tag, so if you want to tag a link with, say, "web 2.0," you have to combine it to one word, otherwise your link will fall into the "web" category and the "2.0" category

I use del.icio.us, seemed the simplest of all. And I like the network feature, discover more quality content that way.
