Hi, I am Kyle Korleski and I am the editor of the Arts: Animation: Anime: Fandom category over at the Open Directory Project. I want you to know that ODP volunteer editors work a lot harder than most people think. So please continue to submit your sites to the Open Directory because I truly believe that Dmoz will be a powerful player in Web 2.0

Neil Turner of Neil's World is one, along with many Wikipedians.

Yeah, a lot of ODP editors are Wikipedians as well.

I'd say that yes there are some really high quality and dedicated ODP editors though I would suggest the majority are either self interest driven or category dictators. I can say that because I've edited a few categories over the years under a pseudonym and found it to be an entirely ungratifying experience. Despite this I love adding things I know to entries at Wikipedia. ODP would be much improved if it had a an open editing system like Wikipedia that anyone can edit and everyone can view the history. The closed shop nature of ODP has really hurt it's legitimacy over the years.

Yeah, that's one of the things that I don't like about with the ODP. I wish it were more open and I wish I could give you advice on "the perfect submission". The sad truth is that I can't because every editor is different. Every category is different and that makes things even more interesting, especially if you throw Adult: and Kids and Teems: into the mix.
I am mainly an Arts: editor, seeing as most of my categories are there.
