You can find the one which will be the best for you on opensourcecms.com. It always depends on what you need from CMS.

Picking a CMS depends on what you want to do. Many people go with what is popular then realize they need additional features or something else does the job more efficiently.
I use Expression Engine. WP is great but didn't have some of the features I wanted built in. If I was doing just a straight blog, I would use WP.

I am using both wordpress and Modx at the minute, and for me Modx just shades it, as its use of AJAX to simplify updating a site is ace.

wordpress has or we can install visual editor while textpattern has lack of it i think
but textpattern has really nice and simple interface and very light weight and fully css no php..
but i am forcing.. to use WP as it has visual editor .. my client don't have much knowledge about html

I agree with Tyme. I've used different CMS for different kinds of projects. I used to use Movable Type, but stopped after they started doing the whole Perl and PHP to get dynamic pages ugliness. I like Textpattern for simpler sites, and presently I'm using Symphony for my personal website. I don't recommend it for everyone, but it is a nice CMS if you can master enough XSLT and XPath (drove me insane for a few weeks while I was learning it) to make it work the way you want it. I've played with EE for a while, too, and would probably put that on my list if I needed to build something big and complex.

I'd pick WP from the two you've mentioned, but as the others say it all depends on what you need, try doing a little online searching you'll hopefully land on the right spot !

It took me a while to get comfortable with Joomla but once you get over the initial learning hump it is very powerful. The themes are getting better and better. The plug ins and modules that are available make it a good choice for sites with a lot of content. I like the design options.
For blogs I use Wordpress and for corporate sites I am leaning towards Drupal although I haven't built a Drupal site . . .yet.

TXP/TextPattern is my fave. I currently use it on both my personal blog site, and my Web Design/Development site, protogenLabs (link is in my 9rules profile). It's based on PHP, and might not be as friendly for everyone to use, but I chose it because I find it to be highly customizable, and it also has a great community which support it through their forums. The plugin support is also fantastic, as you can find something for almost every requirement you'd have.
It gets my top vote!

I'm currently thinking about expanding my site to enable people to blog and have their own profiles, as well as participate in discussions. Also i want functionality for galleries, and so on. I want the system to be highly flexible. Currently looking at Drupal. Any suggestions?
