Favourite online community?

What is your favourite online community, and why? There's a lot of MySpace junkies out there still. Some people love MyBlogLog for the fact that it can help them bring people to their blog. Others are already declaring their love for VIRB, even though it's still in beta.
What is yours? 9rules perhaps? ;)
Personally I don't have a favourite these days. I am just getting into 9rules to see what it is about, and MyBlogLog is all about "friend me" spamming. I do like the look of VIRB however!

This would be the only one I participate with. I love the people here. :-)
I like Facebook too but only because it mirrors and ehnances my real life (and those of my friends).

Oh yeah, I completely forgot about Facebook. That's a big one as well. I'm registered, but unfortunately the participation rates for my local community are close to zero, and it's not really ideal for getting in touch with new people in my opinion.
We do have something similar to what you describe Facebook being for you here in Norway though, called "Blink", but it turned into too much of a match-making thing, so I decided to scrap it.

9rules all the way. it's my first and last lol. Just waiting for the tool that lets you view all of the notes and replies you've submitted. It's coming soon apparently

At the risk of sounding like a suck-up, it's gotta be 9rules. I love the people, I love the blogs here, I love the notes (though they are taking up WAY too much of my time).
I use Facebook on occasion, but I'm not really active there in the community sense. I'm getting more into Flickr, but...
Yup, 9rules it is. I had a very unhappy five minutes the other day when it looked like our Corporate IT had blocked the site. Luckily it was just the filter having a funny five minutes, but it was very stressful.

Me too, I have to say 9Rules too. I do use MyBlogLog too but it does appear to be pretty much people trying to get traffic!
I do want people to visit my blog but I also enjoy the Notes on 9Rules a lot. A big issue is the fact that the discussion and general tone is more creative on 9Rules.
There's also the fact that your Profile can't be destroyed by someone posting some huge YouTube clip in your comments (gotta love MySpace!).

9rules vote over here, I've spread myself over a lot of communities in the past but phased out most now. I find that with the latest Ali additions 9rules gives me all I need. If you count twitter as a community I still partcipate in that but that isn't really a community as such. Flickr I guess could be said to be a community - don't really see it as that though. I do partcipate in that more since doing my image a day project for this year.

9r seems to have the best community interaction as opposed to numerous person-to-person interactions.

Personally I prefer the option of both public community interaction as well as person-to-person, thought private will do for me in the latter case.
I do see that there's a lot of people that like 9rules here, and for some reason I didn't expect anything else ;) But yeah, I'm starting to get the feel of it, and it seems to be quite an enjoyable experience.

I'm new to 9Rules but trying to get my feet wet this morning. I have profiles set up on all the networking sites that I can find, but I haven't found one that really "catches" for me yet. I am part of a unique health blogging community, but outside of that community, I'm still looking for a network.
So ... (after that longwinded introduction) ... hi! Nice to meet you all. :)

The Somethingawful.com forums. The humor and creativity that pours out of that place on an hourly basis is staggering.

9rules, flickr and youtube are the only communities I participate in. And my level of participation is in this order 9rules, flickr, youtube.

9rules is the only one I participate in. I have accounts at most of the major social sites but rarely even go there, let alone take part.

Yeah, I'm starting to get the habitat here at 9rules, and I can say that I understand quite well why people are emigrating these days. Now I just need to do some "networking" and get some "friends" ;)

I'm new to 9rules (been a member for like... 22 hours or something) and i've already been more involved here than i have been in 3 years of myspace, friendster, etc.
It's just got the right community for me.

My favourite community whould be Last.FM as I'm a bit of a music junkie. But i hope to get into this community pretty too.

9rules and Flickr.
Newsvine seems okay, but I never got involved much. And I'm really interested to see where Do the Right Thing is headed for.

I'm getting sick of myspace, facebook.
I'm getting to resent people when they post intimate messages about themselves or their friends or about a planned night out, on someone's page to look cool. It's not about kids doing this - it's all across the board.
Anyway!
Facebook for keeping up with the Jones'. Myspace is cool but untidy but still use on a daily basis. Have to use Bebo for work. Just getting into 9rules and seeing what it's about!

I'm really liking 9 rules.
I also spend quite some time on facebook, but I've said goodbye to myspace and hi5 to many ads, pop ups and useless flash
