Best low cost domain registrar

I'm in the midst of changing over all my websites to a new host. While I've got most of the sites switched over, I still have several domains registered through the old hosting company that I want to switch out to another registrar.
So essentially, I'm trying to cut all ties to my current host, but moving my remaining domains (no sites) to my new host will cost me about twice as much ~15/yr versus ~9/yr now.
So, any suggestions on registrars who are reliable and good to deal with who charge $8.95 or less for domain registration?

With domains I'd always have to say that the big guys get their domains cheaper (as they reg a lot and get wholesale prices) and they can pass this saving on.
GoDaddy is offering $6.99 transfers (they take your domain and give you an extra year on top of the current expiry).
If you buy something from them at the same time that isn't domain related, they'll drop the price to $1.99. There are probably some catches with that deal though.
I think the renewal prices are up at the ~$9 mark but I could be wrong.
Many registrars will give you a discount if you extend for more than two years. I think GoDaddy will knock the price down as far as $7.50 if you renew for 10 years. I know that's now $75 per domain, but you do save money in the future.
Oh and look out for - I'm not sure if they work with other offers but they're just something else to consider.

Yeh, I know about their $6.99 transfers, but there's something about GoDaddy that just makes me think "err...there must be someone else". I just don't gel with their whole schtick. Two years at $6.99 sounds like a great deal, until you want to pull out and take your domain elsewhere.
That might be unfair, but it's the perception I get.

I've heard good things about Moniker and Rebel. My domains are all currently with GoDaddy, but I'm thinking about switching them - not because of bad service, just because I'm starting to think that going with a domain registration specialist might be better for me since I have so many.

I use GoDaddy, for my personal domains and for all of the registrations we do at work. We've never had a problem with them.

I use godaddy.com for almost all my domain names. Around 20. =)

I tend to use 000domains.com. $13.95 1/year.
