with Christmas just a little more than a month away, where have you decided to go to ?
I'm going to the Netherlands where my parents,2 sisters and my brother live.. I'm going for about 40/50 days , yeah I know, but I like to take my time to visit my parents . So from the 1st of December my messages are sent from Sittard, my parents town :) and hopefully Santa Claus is going to help me with a new Notebook.

20 minutes down the interstate to Brian's parents' house in the morning, then back west to his grandparents' (about 5 minutes from us) in the afternoon.

All you traveling folk are making me jealous! I was planning a nice trip back east to New York, but now it looks like LA is where I'll be celebrating the holiday season.
It's always a little jarring to see all the "Santa's sled" type yard decorations here in Southern California. Shouldn't he be on a surfboard? :)

Christmas marks the time of year I leave Richmond, VA to drive 2 hours south to Virginia Beach to visit my mother, then turn around and trek 4 hours back north to Berryville (in Northern Virginia with the cows and the apple trees). Then 2.5 hours back to Richmond.
Last year this was done within 48 hours. I did not enjoy it.

I'll be heading to Maui with my family for some serious sun, sand, and relaxation. I love spending Christmas in Hawaii - it's so nice to get away from the horrible weather at that time of the year, and I can't really think of a nicer way to spend Christmas day than lying on the beach underneath a palm tree with a nice cool pina colada...

Two hours drive north to the Peak District in England to be with some relatives for two days then two days in the country with snow for a relaxing time walking, just with my partner. I like the quiet after a busy year of meetings and consultations.

We just hang out around the house. We hardly ever get to do that, so we enjoy staying home.

I'll be home for Christmas. Doesn't matter where, because home is where the heart is. So if the weather outside is frightful, while the fire is so delightful, then there's one thing I will know: to go home, to go home, to go home.
In Tampa.
Now I'm just jealous. If I took that much time off I'd be out of a job.

I'll go to Penang, an island described as 'Pearl of the Orient' in Malaysia. It is a scenic place full of historic places and delicious foods. It's going to be my first time celebrating Christmas from home.

"luckily" I don't have a job ^-^ but I wished someone would hire me as a full-time web developer, guess I've not the acquired skills yet, but that will come with time, until that happens I be a free man and go wherever I want as long as I want.. har har. Anyway, sometimes it's just nice to stay just at home, near a nice fire with some beers and good company!

This what I intend to do. Since moving out and living with the better half we have spent Christmas together, without family. It isn't that I don't like my family, or hate spending time with them, because I love seeing them. But sometimes Christmas can become a little too stressful when so many people are involved. Instead, we spend the day at home by ourselves, I cook dinner (I find it therapeutic) and we get drunk by about 5pm and veg out in the evening watching TV or playing on the games console. Last year I spent an hour doing some updates to my site as well, knowing that few people would be on the 'net. (I was actually wrong about that, by the way, and received two emails from regular readers asking why the site looked funny.)
