Chawlk Talk: Giving Points Quickly

Since there are a few new things on Chawlk that we didn't cover in the video chat last night (or the soon-to-be-live podcast on 3by9) I thought I'd break down some things in bite-sized Notes.
The first thing I wanted to point out is our updated way of quickly giving points to someone.
Points, if you may not know, are the "currency" of 9rules, and now Chawlk. When we first launched the feature of points, we didn't really give users much to do with these points. Soon thereafter we launched the my.9rules Store where you could "spend" these points on different things, mainly profile upgrades.
We've yet to unveil the Chawlk Store, but we've added ways to quickly give points to people without having to leave the page you're on.
RightOn recently posted a Note asking about Wordpress conditional statements. If someone comes in there and helps him with his question, RightOn could click one of the three "Give X Points" buttons next to that response and immediately thank them for their help. In order to know how many points you have at all times, on most Notes and Clips pages there is a blue box on the right side of the layout showing your current point total (if you're logged in.) When you click an immediate "Give X Points" button, it sends the points and updates your point total in the blue box accordingly. The message that is sent to that user with the points is the URL of the page you gave them points from. Right now it doesn't show the exact permalink to the response, but we're fixing that.
Go forth and give points!

This is good. I always simply forgot about points at 9r Notes.

Very nice idea. How long do you envision before the Chawlk is fully-functional?
I just hope that since you're breaking the notes functionality out to a completely separate site that users do not try and wh0re for points, and act as if points are their sole mission in life. Although, if the wh0re is providing quality answers that is one thing, but wh0ring for the sake of wh0ring will completely suck.

@jark: As fast as Mike can design to be honest, but then you have to wait a second after that till we finish up the other round of surprises.
@lelia: We try.

Jark one thing to think about is that as opposed to other sites, the points you give are actually "your own" and not pulled from a cloud somewhere, so I'd hope that would help stop the point wh0ring like other sites have.
