A couple weeks ago I proposed an idea to Mike and Tyme about a mini-site that I wanted to do over a weekend. I called it Quofda and the premise is quite simple. Ask a question a day and hope you get answers from around the web. The catch is you don't answer on the site you answer on your own site. Maybe the question will spawn a wonderful entry or maybe you just want to talk about something different. Either way there will be a question Monday-Friday so if you want to participate feel free.
You can respond in text, video or audio form it doesn't matter. Just trackback the entry and you are good to go. Only two questions have been done so far:
I answered the first one and am working on the second and I know Tyme answered the first as well in video form! Unfortunately a Rundle sighting has not been confirmed.
If you wish to sponsor the question of the day for I don't know maybe $10 a day just shoot me a PM or email me. If you have suggestions for future quofdas feel free to post them here or send them to me.

I definitely plan to participate soon on this. It's a cool idea, and give me something to write about on my personal blog. Not sure if I want to do video or audio though.

What a great idea! I'm definitely participating when a question strikes my fancy. :) This could be viral, I think.
Hope ya'll are ready for the spam that'll come from this, too.

Wow, yes, I just spotted the 'mystery advert', clicked it and was immediately intrigued. Seeing the 9rules link started me. It's a great idea for quick inspiration.
Good one and congrats.
Here's to the next web rage! Expect post and link love soon.

Love the idea, working on an answer as we speak. But here's a thought: Wouldn't it be better to see all the trackbacks from a particular question on the frontpage. Correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like you can only see the trackbacks on the permalinks page.
Just a thought. But seriously, I love the concept!

Yeah that was the original concept, but unfortunately I couldn't find a way to get trackbacks on the homepage in Wordpress. Of course we could just hack it up ourselves I guess...

Forgot to mention if you submit a question and we don't have a sponsor for that day then your site becomes the sponsor for the question for life.

Where do we submit these questions?

For now just do it here.

Does Quofda have a Twitter account?
I'd love to track that instead of RSS - which has become less and less an instant reminder of new content to me: just can't keep up ;)
Mine's up too btw.

No Twitter but if you are subscribed to the 9rules Twitter I can start posting them there. So far everyone that has answered the question has put my answers to shame, making me step up my game before I even wanted to.

Good, I follow 9rules (mental note: check to make sure).
My post hasn't shown up in the trackbacks yet though (first kiss). Isn't a trackback instant? Or is 9 hours typical?

Mine's shown as a trackback. (Good thing cuz this means you're off the hook, guys. JK.)
@Nils: It didn't show up right away; took a few hours, actually. :) Know it's hard to be patient, though!

@Nils: I found your's and apparently it trackbacked the about page, I'm seeing if I can manually move it over now.

Okay, cheers! I saw it there now.
Must have been coz I linked to both?
Better luck next time. I'm thinking I might try a 365 project, doing every question?
Would be hard to keep up I fear :)

I have some questions for the quofda:

I've got a few as well.
"The right person or the person right now?"
"Living your ambition or living your life?"

I think they should be like "essay" questions, rather than just yes or no, 1 or 2

Do the trackbacks on quofda.com work? I've tried tracking back several posts and it doesn't seem to be working.

I've looked at it a couple of times over the last couple weeks and haven't seen any trackbacks.
The questions are a little simplistic for a blog post, at least for the most part, or maybe I'm just not creative enough. I think Vidar was right up there, the questions might need to be a little more substantial. For the less creative of us.

@touqen: They were in moderation. The trackbacks are displaying now. :)
@cooper: People are answering them different ways. Some Twitter back, some answer as asides, some as blog entries. For example on this question:
What 5 words best describe your life right now?
One could just say the five words (Twitter or an aside) or one could list the five words and why they apply. That's a blog entry. Of course some of the questions do not apply to everyone (for example why do birthday's suck?).
But I'll pass this on to Scrivs...he's the Deep Thoughts on The Spur of the Moment one of the Triad.
