Were you a fan of Sesame Street? or Are you still a fan of this timeless children programme? What strikes you the most about it?

I have been nostalgic towards any thing I read or watched in my childhood recently. Hence, I have never grown tired of watching the Sesame Street(my most favoured show) on youtube for the past three weeks. I have a special liking for the skits from 1967 to 1992. They have an endearing, haunting effect on me. Watching each and every one of them never fails in bringing me back to the tears and laughter of my distant childhood. I thank Jim Henson(I mispelt the name silliy in my original post. Thanks, Jensized for correcting me) for the creation of this programme. He teaches us the values of love, respect and tolerance through the dancing letters and alphabets, the hilarious but adorable muppets, and the catchy, melodious rhymes. I have always found the programme the representation of a perfect global life.

The following skit is one of my favourite ones.

Duhhhhhhhhh are you kidding me? Sesame St is awesome

ZOMG the internet is broken because of these Youtube videos!

I dunno, for me the muppets wins over sesame street every time.

Jim Henson. Not Jill Hansen.

I love the Muppets and Sesame Street (my parents saw The Great Muppet Caper on their first date, so the franchise has special meaning to us). I hope my children have such imaginative programming to inspire them, although Sesame Street's become awfully sterilized in the "new millennium."

@Jensized,

Thanks for correcting the serious error.

You are right, even the cookie monster has mentioned the letter 'C' as a different thing....

@Karmatosed,

Can't agree more with you. They make the programme appealing.

I think Sesame Street will always be a favorite of mine. I loved the fact that my kids were able to see the same thing I did when I was growing up.

I love Sesame Street! It was my favorite show growing up (a close second was Reading Rainbow). I seriously had Big Bird in my dreams.

I grew up on watching Sesame Street.
I like to try and get my daughter to watch Sesame Street. She used to when she was around 1. Now that she's around 3 she's more interested in cartoons.

I loved that column in the New York Times on the first episodes of SS now considered not to be suitable for preschool children.

Cookie Monster was on a fast track to diabetes. Oscar’s depression was untreated. Prozacky Elmo didn’t exist.

Hilarious.
