Provided you can remember of course?

The first anime I can remember watching would have to be Full metal Alchemist. It's what drew me into the whole anime sensation.

That's easy and depressing at the same time. DBZ.

Unsubbed episodes of Ranma 1/2. On VHS. Oh, don't forget the very poor quality - it was so grainy it was hard to see anything!

Years later, the first entire series I watched was Card Captor Sakura. I have been addicted ever since :)

*laughs* I think I can understand why I disliked anime when I first watched anime. Reason?

My first anime is Serial Experiment Lain and I went...*Wth* with it. Still, after returning to it after 1-2 years, it becomes my favorite anime. That is for another story.

Doraemon

DBZ was the first for me as well...and I loved it!! That is until, I started getting into other anime that were a lot better.

But DBZ still holds a place in my heart. :P

Ah you know the thing about DBZ is that I felt so tricked. Same thing goes for Inuyasha. They both started off well but then proceeded to drag their audience through the mud for the next three hundred episodes.

Pokemon or DBZ, cant remember. Or maybe it was Astro Boy...

i tend to forget whether the first anime i had ever watched was DBZ or Dr. Slump. either way, those two are still my favorites.

It was either Doraemon or the original Macross.

Technically my first would be something like Moomin or Samurai Pizza Cats back when I was a kid, but in those days I didn't know what anime was, let alone that I was watching it.

Guess it depends on what we are calling Anime. If Voltron is considered Anime that would be my first, but if we are talking "modern" I didn't get my fix on until DBZ on Cartoon Network. Don't be ashamed of DBZ being your first one because it really is a good and entertaining series. No need for deep storylines all the time.

I don't think that I am ashamed of watching DBZ and you are right Scrivs, not all anime is serious. I think DBZ is one of those "required" things you talk about when discussing anime among fans. Some people like to make fun of it for the sake of making conversation.

It was a huge thing back then and sometimes we older forget that even though DBZ is the Sponge Bob Square Pants of anime for guys, that we stilled watched it and loved it. (I hear that Sponge Bob Square Pants is awesome.)

I'm sorry, DBZ was not depressing even though it could be a bit goofy at times.

Michael; Spengbob is my hero!

My first Anime experience was Akira. Definitely an interesting way to start on in. I believe that my second series was E's Otherwise followed up by Evangelion.

I never got into the whole DBZ thing. The whole "IMA CHARGIN MAH POWAH!" for five episodes thing definitely turned me off.

Mobile Suit Gundam was the first. Then there were some others I think but the next "oooohhh!" was Transformers. Then DBZ.

Mine would be probably Saint seiya or Sailor Moon, can't remember :p

I would have to say.. and as my icon portrays- Dr. Slump...

The first anime I watched was probably Voltes V, but the first that I watched realizing it was anime was Rurouni Kenshin, and it's still one of my favorites.

I think it was DB but it's hard to remember back that far....

ermm, probably doraemon..then naruto. can't remember +_+

Area 88, but incompletely. And then Bleach and Midori Days which I followed to the end.

Either Voltron, Ronin Warriors, or the movie Venus Wars. Can't remember which one was really first, most likely it was Voltron.

Tenchi Muyo was one of the early ones that I watched when I really started to get into the anime.

Gotta be Gundam or Macross.

Voltron soon behind though. I really need to pick up some of that and re-watch it.

Do films count? Because my brother exposed me to countless Manga VHS releases (including Overfiend, urghh).

As for TV anime, Gundam Wing and Dragonball Z I think. Luckily I saw Evangelion and Cowboy Bebop shortly after and the rest is history.

Sailor Moon. I use to watch it ever morning before school when I was 6 years old. :D

I'm not huge into anime, but my first one watched was called Fist of the North Star.

hehe SM was quite fun back then rite Zombie :) oh the shame

first I watched has to be The Guyver at my uncles house, wonderfully violent for my supple 8 year old mind.
