Anyone else going to cop themselves on of these bad boys? Mike keeps on raving about his Blackberry, but I had the previous version of the Sidekick and loved and currently have a Blackberry (non-QWERTY) and just never use it.
Engadget has a review roundup if you would like to know more and all the reviews so far seem to be really good.

Some guys were talking about this last night at Basketball. I am not sure what I am going to want, but I definitely want a home phone replacement as well as some sort of PDA.

These phones are getting too complicated. Then again, I should try using one before I talk! I've been on the look for a new phone and maybe it's time to get something like a Blackberry or Sidekick that has those little keyboard things and whatnot.

See I would never use the Sidekick or Blackberry as my main phone because they are just too big and when I go out to a bar or club I don't want to carry a skateboard in my pocket. The Sidekick was convenient for those times I wanted to easily get away from the computer without getting away from the world.

Yeah. I think that is one of the main reasons I want to try one. So when I get away from the computer I can still keep up on things wherever I am. Although, I don't get away from the computer enough these days to actually give it a good using!
Oh, and yeah, skateboards in pockets... not fun.

Yea, I wouldn't have a use for either of them. My Sony Ericsson phone just sits there turned off half of the week.

It's a tough call. I'm interested in what the Blackberry and Sidekick have to offer but in the past I've mostly made fun of people that use them — opting for the small cell phone if any at all.
In the coming months I'm going to be replacing my home phone with a cell phone but I really, really don't like the prospect of paying a $90/month cell phone bill. That and the size thing.

I picked up a SKIII about a week ago. I had the SKII For awhile last year. Although the device is supposed to do it all - browser, email, im, text, etc - I really only find myself using it for email and text. Despite improvement over the last release, the browser on these things is still slow. Blame it on T-Mobiles data network. I'm also not digging the menu with additional sub menus. Why do I need to go to instant messengers, scroll the wheel sideways, then select from AIM, Yahoo, or MSN? Why can't these apps be top level menu options? Same goes for the tasks and calendar apps. And why are the keys so noisy still? I'm sitting in classes and everyone around me can hear me typing.

Also forgot to add the fact that any mail accounts setup on the device will use Danger servers for outgoing mail. What does this mean? Any mail sent from your device - setup for POP or IMAP - will not be tracked on your own servers the next time you check your mail from home.

I really want to get one of these, however, I cannot due to be in the UK. If T-Mobile were to start selling it here, I am sure that they would get quite a few customers. But they probably won't release it until the Sidekick 4

In the Uk the blackberry is really the option - although the features are less than the USA - be aware of that as I didn't know that and was struck with the eh? moment over where all the applications went. I like the blackberry and will be upgrading soon to the querty new one. I use it a lot but have been considering the added functionality of other phones like the SideKick - again in UK it's not happening for a while so blackberry is the option really and I am used to it.

I agree w/ Scrivs -- I'd go for a PDA phone if I could easily have another smaller one to carry around when I'm not working (or expect to be). Does anyone know if any carriers allow for this? I guess you could set up both work and personal numbers and have the personal forward to the business when it's turned off.
