If you have a dual screenset up how do you set up the 'second' screen, on the left or the right?
I have tried both recently and am very much in the 'right' camp, just feels far more intuative to me.

I have mine above, actually.

Mine has always been on the right, though I might try a third screen on the left of the main one, when I get it. There are days I feel like I'm running out of real estate!

ah, may not have been clear enough. can you actually drag your window 'up' to that screen, or is it set up in the preferences on the left or right.
Hope that's not too confusing?

@Rich: technically based on the choices, yours is on the right as seen in your picture :)
i've never seen someone put a monitor above a laptop screen like you have. cool idea.

CMarshall: I can drag up, yes. It's a default preference within OS X - no magic or anything. I generally just stick iTunes or a movie on there, and do all the normal stuff on the Macbook screen.
I like it up there. And it makes room for my third monitor, which is attached to a Windows PC.

@Rich - so I see, I got of my lazy arse and took a look after I asked you :-) That seems pretty cool!

Left for me!

Right for me. Something about the way my brain works, but I keep the main programs on the left main screen (mail, photoshop, writeroom etc) and keep the right screen for the browser.
The only exception to this is when I'm doing GIS work. For some reason then I like to have the control panel and layers on the right screen, with the map renders on the left screen.

To the right. Mostly because it's most comfortably to sit at the desk that way. The 21" CRT stays put, but the laptop could be placed at either side.

I have an external one to the right of my iMac on a box so the tops are level when I move windows across the screens. I mainly use the second screen for holding my IM chats, EyeTV or DVD or iTunes video, or iTunes depending on what I'm doing.

Incidentally, before it was above, it was to the right, and still served the same purpose as mentioned above.

The right over here but I like Cas use it for browser testing - it's a larger screen and bigger resolution so means I don't squint at it like I tend to in my laptop. I do however, often bring code if I'm having issues with it over there as I seem to focus more on that screen.

So what you use it for? I am tending to put all my communication stuff - iChat, Skype, Twitteriffic, MSN, email and have small eyeTV window open for TV on the second screen, and use the main screen for single task stuff.
Things move around a lot but this is the 'default'

2nd screen is a PC for gaming, website testing, etc, but it can be controlled from the Mac's keyboard/mouse with Synergy.

Rich, I have to say, you're the first person I've seen using a second ABOVE your primary... looks cool.
I prefer to the right, but I currently lack a second screen.

getting to this late, but my second is on the right, both at home and at work - just makes the most sense to me...

I have mine set to the right. When I had three I had the main in the middle. At one time I had four but I can't remember how I had that set up.
