I was just wandering what your favorite Firefox 3 is. Not only is it a good way to list the best features it has, but possibly discover some "hidden" ones that we may have not uncovered yet.

My favorite feature so far is the Bookmark tags. It saves so much time that it's unbelievable. The "bad" thing is that you sort of have to memorize which tags you created to categorize your sites, but hopefully someone will create a tag cloud (or similar funcionality) addon soon enough.

I also liked the smooth image resizing that made the 9rules avatars look so much better, but that feature was only enabled on the first Beta.

Short version of my "Why Firefox 3 rocks":

  1. OS-specific UI elements
  2. Informative drag and drop
  3. Multiple improvements to the Add-on Manager
  4. Slimmer address-bar with added functionality
  5. Superior rendering
  6. Upcoming features like Weave integration, OpenID, remote bookmarking, parental controls.

That was written about 3b2 when it came out and I've just upgraded to 3b3 so I'm finding a whole load of new stuff.

i like the drop-down when you type in urls. nice.

I'm still not sure about the search-as-you-type feature. I tend to remember URLs more than page titles and the order that URLs come out just infuriates me sometimes.

My favorite feature is, by far, the new look for FF3 on OSX. Finally a theme which actually matches the OS!

@jark - I like that as well...the new skin is striking.

Crossing my fingers that it crashes less frequently than FF2. I transitioned to Safari for that exact reason.

I've been using the Betas since they came out, and I can't remember the last time Firefox crashed.

I just installed it, got my plugins to work, etc. Little bugs I found in FF2 disappeared with FF3. For example, I use the plugin Redirection on WP and I had to use Safari to delete something. With FF3 it works, not sure why. My productivity has gone up significantly.

I imagine someone will shortly. I love the ability to tag my bookmarks.

I haven't gotten the chance to download it yet, but it's the next tab open, so I'm sure I'll be back once I play around with it. I'm just hoping that it fixes the memory leaks. I can usually only have one or two tabs open, sometimes three, or else FF goes crazy.

Yeah... *awkward grimace* It still uses the most RAM on my system (after VMWare, which I don't count because that's an entire computer running there.

Is it just me or do more people see this in Firefox 3? It's not just on 9rules either, but on my site as well.

I checked 9rules and your site. Both display as they should. If you find out what it is, please let us know. You might not be the only one experiencing it. :)

I'm going to have to do some Webkit vs. FF3 comparisons to see how the rendering times stack up. I think Webkit is still going to be on top, just a hunch.

I'm certain Webkit will come out on top. Firefox isn't aiming to be the fastest, simply faster than IE, and a good alternative browser for all popular platforms.
