i'm using pidgin for all (aim, gchat, yahoo & msn), but i noticed a lot of my gchat pals go through google mail. just curious to what people are using out there...

Pidgin FTW! :) I used to use Trillian but I prefer Pidgin's performance.

Pidgin FTW indeed. :)

Another Pidgin convert from Trillian here. I can use it anywhere as well since I have one running off my thumbdrive. My only issues are that it kept crashing. But the new Pidgin 2.1.0 seems to have fixed that problem. I can't wait till they integrate the new MSN protocol. That's my only beef with it.

xchat for the IRC and Kopete for all the rest.

Adium on the mac @ home (Aim/Gtalk/Yahoo)
Meebo and Gmail's GTalk @ work.
Pidgin on the PC @ home.

xchat for IRC, miranda for IM

I use Gtalk,Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, and Xchat for iRC

I've actually moved from adium, which is great, to ichat, because of the video conferencing and upcoming document preview-in-conference

Adium and Trillian

Adium mostly. Unless I'm not at my desktop, then I keep google mail open in a tab. If video conferencing picks up, I can see myself throwing Skype or iChat into the mix.

Adium/iChat

If you are using iChat without Chax you are missing out. Go grab it and start enjoying iChat more.

I'd much rather use iChat, but unfortunately I'm stick with Adium due to all my MSN contacts. I know about the jabber method, but that just doesn't feel right. No avatars, and I couldn't find any servers.

Windows Live Messenger and mIRC.

I'd happily move to another MSN client if it supported Video and Audio and wasn't Trillian.

Windows Live Messenger + Gmail in Windows.

Pidgin in Ubuntu.

Chatzilla for IRC in all.

I don't like using Pidgin in Windows as GAIM wasn't happy running under Win32 for me.

Adium, i would prefer iChat and i did use it for a while with MSNmessenger, but friends were telling me i never logged off! so i ditched iChat and got Adium. pitty, cos i love the way iChat works and looks...

I use iChat.

I use adium because I can't for the life of me figure out how to get iChat AIM connections through my router's NAT, but adium works fine... go figure

I use iChat.

I tried the msn trick too, and I got it to work, but adding all of the users in was such a pain so I never did it.

Adium always crashed, and I got so sick of that picture with the bird on fire... maybe they fixed it now?

I have msn on my mac too, but I rarely log on... too many people that want to chat for hours on end. :-/

adium or just gchat

Pidgin at home on Ubuntu but I have to split it up with AIM and Yahoo! at work since we're locked down on what software we can use on our computers.

aim lite at home
meebo at work

Adium! I would use iChat but everyone else I know is on MSN/Windows Live so it's a no-go for me. Plus I like how Adium is infinitely customisable.

Adium at home and Meebo at work. :)

xchat 2

For IM: Miranda on Windows, Adium on OS X, Pidgin on Linux
For IRC: mIRC on Windows, Linkinus on OS X
Meebo when I don't feel like installing anything.

I'm a Pidgin user.

Has anyone tried Instantbird yet?

I'm using miranda for both IM and IRC now (xchat was being a bitch), but recently I cant seem to get into freenode... I dont know if they're filtering the client or what though

Twitter and Gmail.

Very occasionally MSN - however I find Instant Message clients tend to be a massive distraction and IRC can be a very unhealthy environment to exist in.

Adium for MSN and AIM.

meebo.
