Due to the discussion of the Note WordPress Sucks Because... Matt Mullenweg, developer behind the software has allowed us to ask him a couple of questions about WordPress and its development. With the popularity of wordpress growing so explosively over the last couple years, what sort of tactics are you going to take on security? Do you have anyone helping with the project actively trying to hack WP to eliminate holes before they're found by truly malicious people?

Will WordPress ever offer the option to customize roles to users? For example, assigning an author the ability to access the Write tab only and not receive email notification on comments?
