@Bartoneus: By criticizing me, aren't you also guilty of the very thing you are accusing me of?

The answers I received both on 9rules and facebook will be used in an upcoming article with the same title as this thread- maybe you should wait and read it.

I don't put myself in any particular religion. However I do love churches and the atmosphere within them. Indeed, being a photographer I have specialised in photographing churches for the last 6 years. They have an amazing atmosphere, trapped in a time-warp. See Portfolios.

For me it's about love. Death will come and although we have churches with graves in the grounds, we can celebrate their lives. It's about making life better for the living. It's about loving. Whether it's God or a Universal Power, I do believe there is something and I 'pray' and tune in. And churches are such special places...

Peroty: I'm not trying to get you into a church. This post wasn't to reach people, it was to understand people's definition of Christianity. I asked a lot of questions in order to understand your stance, when I understood it, I said what I thought is the truth and encouraged you to consider the rest of the passage. I didn't condemn you, I didn't say you were going to hell. I merely stated to someone who said they didn't know God, that maybe you should consider the whole principle instead part of it. I'm not so sure this is your situation now that I've read everything you've had to say.

Nothing I say will change you or anyone else. Each person is responsible and will be held accountable for the truth they've obeyed and ignored.

Accept the responsibility and quit blaming the church, and everyone else for your decisions. If you see such terrible things in the church you came from you should have approached them to correct them as the bible teaches us to do; instead of leaving and throwing a pity party. Get some back bone and be who you say you are.

@brandonrichards:

I'm going to tell you something you've probably been waiting to hear this entire thread...

You're right about absolutely everything. And God loves even people who are right all the time.

I hope that suffices.

Each person is responsible and will be held accountable for the truth they've obeyed and ignored.

Nope. I don't feel any condemnation here at all. Not in the slightest.

I plan to meet God this Thursday for a Coke around 3:30. We're going to have a nice long chat. :)

Brandon

I've had so many of these "I read the bible and I have a verse to pin on anything" conversations too many times to count.

You may NOT have the intentions others are calling you on, but I can tell you from reading this thread and MOSTLY staying out of it... you do come across as one who feels he has ALL the answers.

There's much conversation about information, but information changes nothing.

Relational experiences change everything. An encounter with the Holy Spirit is a direct encounter with God's power.

I know there's only text here, but the Gospel is an invitation to get people to experience God's depths and His core essence. In the Bible, the Gospel was presented with a demonstration of power. That same power still exists.

Trust His Spirit and not information.

(And feel free to ask me what the trash I'm talking about if it makes no sense)

You've just been dancing around my questions and avoiding the conversation, you got what you wanted and now you're running away with it? In my last post I didn't condemn you for anything, yet you're trying to turn things back on me. Honestly, I don't really need to wait and read your article, if it has this same name and is based on what you gathered here, it will be very short and to the point:

Christians believe in Christ as their savior.

Man, there, I wrote it for you!

Nothing I say will change you or anyone else.

If you see such terrible things in the church you came from you should have approached them to correct them as the bible teaches us to do; instead of leaving and throwing a pity party.

Why bother approaching your church when they all believe nothing anyone says or does will change anyone else's mind? Have you skipped over every part of the bible that talks about ministering? Are you never changed by what your pastor says, or by what you read, what you hear? And how awesome is the pity party you're throwing for yourself when you've been trying to run away and close down this thread? Don't avoid the question and answer it, would you rather scare people away from your faith or bring them towards it? Are you a selfish, greedy person and you want to have all of God's love to yourself? I can't imagine many people in this thread are feeling God's true love through your loving of your neighbor here.

@Bartoneus: Really when you and others rudely hijacked the thread with your childish remarks and sarcasm, the thread ended itself and became nothing more than a mob.

It's true that nothing I say will change anyone, its the power of God through His word that will change someone. It's God that does it, not me -- hence the 'I'm not trying to change anyone' I'm just the messenger. There is no pity party here believe me.

The answer to my question is a real relationship with Jesus Christ but Im sure you'll argue that too and contradict yourself then again.

Here have the last word... its all yours.

Why so bitter and spiteful?

It's true that nothing I say will change anyone, its the power of God through His word that will change someone. It's God that does it, not me -- hence the 'I'm not trying to change anyone' I'm just the messenger. There is no pity party here believe me.

My entire argument is that what you say DOES effect people, and the effect you're having is to drive people away from God, the bible, and religion as a whole. Several people in this thread alone have supported my claims, and they're the ones being driven away so I trust their opinion on that. As a Christian you should feel it is your duty to spread the word of God and bring people towards him, not drive them away. If you close your eyes and stand in the middle of the street, will the cars have no effect on you? Will you have no effect on the cars? What you say online will be read by people and no doubt have some effect on the person reading it.

The answer to my question is a real relationship with Jesus Christ but Im sure you'll argue that too and contradict yourself then again.

I haven't argued any of your conclusions, only how you present yourself as a Christian and give religion in general an image of bigotry and ignorance of other's views.

Here have the last word... its all yours.

If you don't want people to reply, discuss, or in any way react to what you say please stop posting anything on the internet anywhere. You've been trying for a while now to cut this thread short, if you really want to just be happy in your little bubble of a world and leave it be. If you're interested in discussing thoughts, beliefs, and opinions then we're all here to provide that for you.

I sincerely hope that there is no last word and that this keeps going.

Apparently this was a fishing party so he could write an article about how he was attacked for loving God.

I'll believe what I believe and you do the same sir. Dumping your faith in someones lap and professing that their way isn't THE way just puts people off and makes them mad.

Oh, and if you're thinking of reprinting anything I have to say here, at least know, you don't have my support there.

ooo I wonder if he'll quote me extensively since he seems to love me. He is so interested in what I had to say and what I felt I bet I'll be the focus of the piece. I can't wait to read it. Tack it to my wall! :)

Though if there's any wrongdoings or misquoting I know just who to call!

The Church Police!

See him repressing me! You see him? You see him?

I love MP
