Well, this is one of the only b&w photos I've ever taken, and I'm not a great photographer (or Photoshop manipulator, either), but I took this on Christmas in 2004, the year I got my new camera. I had it on night shot just playing around with it, and we were at the dining table after dinner and the only light in the room was the candles on the table. I (probably over-) tweaked it in PS a lot, but don't remember what exactly I did at this point. I liked it though.
My little girl just looked so angelic here. :)
Oh to have 48 hours in every day, so that I could devote some time to photography and be as good as all of you!!!
My daughter and I picked this photo of my son when he was a baby taken by a friend of the family. I think it's the expression on his face(?)...we just like it even though the quality could be better.
I can't explain it. I had just gotten my 10D and I wanted to go test it out. We found a fair and thats when it happened. Still one of my favorite black and white shots.
Trees under Ilam Rock in winter, Dovedale, Derbyshire. UK
Hasselblad with 50mm lens on Delta 100ASA film and hand developed in Dixactol, printed on Forte Museum and scanned.
Wish I had a large enough body of black-and-white work to say that I had a hard time choosing like others, but this was an easy choice for me; a portrait of an ex-girlfriend.
@Joe — That grain adds so much awesome character to your Tennis Bubble photo.

Trying to get into concert photography, but I could use some new glass.
These are some great photos.
I can see why that would be a current favourite publicenergy; it's really an amazing capture.
