Resurrecting the photo challenge

I think the way it was going before, meant that all that was happening was that people were trawling through their old photos and posting one that kind of matched and then just leaving the note behind.

Maybe we ought to have specific challenges and say that the photo needs to be taken during the life of the challenge. Maybe a week is too short for challenges like that.

The other thing, is that it doesn't necessarily have to be about the quality of the image as such - sometimes it's more impressive that somebody has come up with an original way of interpreting a challenge - it'd be nice if everyone felt they could have a go rather than just leave it to the people who are really into photography.

I think twice a month is a good time frame, what about you? Once a month might be a bit too long.

I agree on the specific challenges, and agree on the fact that the photo should be taken within the life of the challenge.

Yes, bring them back! Even though I never got myself into gear with taking pictures for them, they were some of the most enjoyable notes on here to just peruse through and read. :D

Yes, bring it back. I agree that it is not so much about taking the perfect picture as it is about the challenge itself. Maybe two weeks?

I like the twice a month idea, but how about this, just announce both at the beginning of the month and have submission deadlines for both by the end of the month?
