Today's Quofda asks what is your favorite picture? This doesn't have to be a picture that you took, but one that overall you can always go back to and know that is the picture you will always like.
As for me I don't have the one that I want to show available so I will give you my fallback favorite...
Yes sir.

This just always reminds me of a kind of understated individuality.
Technically it's not that superb but that's not what I see in it.

I've had a newspaper clipping on my kitchen message board for ages now:
It's a picture of the Mallory and Irvine Expedition, two mountaineers who tried climbing Mount Everest in 1924 but never came back.
Not sure why I like it so much. I'm not into that bravado of "hey let's risk our lives climbing a mountain no one can or should get to".
But I guess it's the naiveté of these guys who almost look like a bunch of tourists in their fancy dress, walking canes and hats ready for a stroll in the Himalayas.
Powerful image to me nonetheless.

I don't think I have a favorite picture, but this is a painting that my parents have had in their house for a long time, and is a definite favorite of mine.

Is it lame to choose a baby picture?
At this point, this beauty is everywhere I look.

I've always loved this photo by Edward Chambré Hardman of the Ark Royal prior to it's launch in 1950, Liverpool.
There are so many others though, it's really hard to choose. I still find this fascinating after years of viewing though and it was the one that sprang to mind when I read the question, so I'll stick with it.
