Maybe you missed the point where she called everyone disrespectful and unappreciative?

Maybe you missed my sarcasm in my first sentence (of my last post).

Maybe if we're still here discussing this, (and other things in other notes),
that:
1. we actually care about the community here?
2. realize that there IS more to this than has been revealed?
3. respect what you've done here in your efforts to keep 9rules to mean 'quality'
4. respect your decision to make your rules, ban people as you like, and moderate and censor your community as you see fit. (see my first post in this thread)/

However, Tyme and Scrivs, both of you have continued to beat the "Rich is an asshole, anyone who supports Rich is unappreciative and disrespectful" drum, and that's where I take great offense. You have established a community and now you're calling us a bunch of cunts.

You fail to realize this and/or fail to admit it. That's where you fail. Enjoy your saturday.

» So you don’t ask...  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by Scrivs.

You're right Tyme, we're just a bunch of no good dirty rotten Noters who have no appreciation for what the 9rulers do. We should all be banned for under-appreciation.

Great way to take a single issue and demonize your entire community.

A+ for effort

F for Fail.

Scrivs, this is now a public discussion of what happened.

Nearly everyone who has responded has a problem with how it was handled, that's why we're here. Talking about it. Mostly peacefully. We are taking it up with 9rules. In public.

9rules decided that this was going to be handled publicly. And that's where 9rules lost face, in my eyes.

» So you don’t ask...  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by Scrivs.

So should we have an intellectual discussion on rape or satire? Or how about how censorship?

"There are certain topics that are off limits to comedians: JFK, Aids, the Holocaust. The Lincoln assassination just recently became funny-I need to see this play like I need a hole in the head. And I hope to someday live in a world where a person could tell a hilarious Aids joke. Still one of my dreams. "

- Michael Scott, (from the US version of The Office)

While I disagree with how you handled it, this IS your treehouse, and you can kick out whoever you want, I do think you probably owe at least an email telling rich that he's not welcome to come and play at your house anymore.

» $3.0999 / gal for gas here! (California)  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by thesirdanny.

It's funny, because on one of the roads, the further inland (we're talking 1 block, 2blocks, 3 blocks, not miles) you go, the cheaper the gas gets.

Right next to the freeway, there are 3 or 4 stations that sell gas at $3.29 still, while 3 blocks down they are selling it for $2.78. Rich, lazy people live here in ma town, and they show their true colors, they get off the highway and turn into the first station they see.

Both companies are doing very, very well.

I'd love to see a good study done comparing US gas prices to the rest of the world with a factor of total 'miles driven' on average per person. That sort of thing would adjust and make it easier to see total spent on fuel United States vs the rest of the world, without having a population comparison problem.

I personally believe that people in the united states drive more on average than any other country, thus our ammount spent on fuel is higher than other places, thus the difference between filling up at the station charging 2.78 vs 3.29 can be seen.

I don't have any sort of evidence to back it up, but that's how i think about it and i guess i see things that way because in california, for the most part, everyone drives because everything is so far away. the suburban sprawl combined with commerical and residential zoning of the area and the environmentalists lobbying the local and state governments to keep local wildlife areas, with the fear of earthquakes so there aren't huge buildings all over--all encourage everything to be spread apart while discouraging trains and subway use and further construction, the busing system is old and falling apart, and consumers are paying the cost. you can take a 2 day bus ride to Austin TX for SXSW for $500, or you can pay the same price to take a 3 hour flight AND stay in a hotel.

But... i think gas prices will continue to go up as the supply decreases and the demand increases globally

I love last.fm for the tracking of what i listen to. I can point to my last.fm page when someone says, what have you been listening to lately.

If you pay for last.fm (at least when i did) the "listen to your own radio" feature makes it worth it over and over because, you get priority on the servers and you can listen to a mix of your music, without having your entire collection. Very helpful when working remotely at someone else's house or just chilling at a friends and want to turn on a nice mix.

Of course I've driven around looking for shots, but nothing has really jumped out at me...

Submitting to Contests

Photography Community — Posted: Jul. 7, 2007  ...   Last By: azharc @ 1 year ago

Does anyone here submit to photography contests? If so, have you ever been featured/printed/won an award, and has it helped you in anyway (marketing yourself, making new leads, sell random photos, etc) ?

What are some fun/good contests? What do you think about photo contests?

=) Lots of questions, pick a few or all and discuss.
