You don't need superhuman powers, just the power of ants to be the most incredible person in the world.

That's the thing, so many people like to think it really effects them when others make a comment. And if you really want to make this about race are you the upstanding citizen giving your race the good name?

» Let Us Discuss Race  ...  Last Reply: 11 minutes ago by cooper.

I can see how someone would take offense to that, but I don't think they should. I could see me making a smart ass comment in my head and letting life go on because I knew what the person meant. Hell, nevermind I would've joined in the joke with them.

Let Us Discuss Race

Commentary Community — Posted: Jul. 23, 2008  ...   Last By: cooper @ 11 minutes ago

In the article clipped above I talk about how sometimes black people can push the race issue a bit too far. Now all races at one time or another push the issue a bit too far and blacks just happen to be my example so far. Being a person of mixed heritage (black and white) I have it a bit easier than others in that I find I can say whatever around anyone without getting glares or shocked expressions.

But in your life do you find you have to watch what you say around different races? Even if I'm around asians for example I will crack an asian joke because if they cracked a black or white joke I would laugh just the same. We aren't all equal because we are different colors just like you don't like all the crayons in the box. It's going to happen that people pick one color over another.

Like I said, God is enjoying this fiasco. What I want to know his how race effects you in your life? Could be in work or personal life. Does it hold you back, does it make you uncomfortable or do you just pretend nothing is there?

God Had Fun When He Made Different Races

Commentary Community — Posted: Jul. 23, 2008

So when God created man (see I’m not even going to bother with all that Creationism crap, it’s just more fun when you think somebody created us because we are twisted), do you think he (yes he, God can’t be a woman, things would end up perfect then…see what I did there?) asked himself how he could make life interesting? I think first he created different heights, eye color and hair color and figured we would just fight it out right there. But that wasn’t good enough, he needed something more. That is when he came up with the idea of races and let the shit hit the fan. It came as an added bonus that we discriminate over gender, financial status, religion, place where we grew up, attractiveness and other inconsequential things.

I think they have already started giving people test runs at WWDC and MacWorld when they allow them to make cameos and show off a certain feature. They are still unsure as to who will succeed job, but rest asure the plan is in place. Of course the stock will drop when any concerns about Jobs arises and will drop again when he retires, but I think Apple has built a culture around itself that it should be able to push through. Or you might have the Bill Gates effect and the company stops getting mentioned anywhere at all.

Apple may be eying sub-$1000 notebook market

Apple Community — Posted: Jul. 23, 2008

Investment bank Piper Jaffray said Tuesday it believes Apple is readying new iPod and notebook products that will apply downward pressure to profit margins because they'll be priced more affordably, such as 13-inch MacBook that will fetch less than $1000.

10 Things You Don't Know About Men by Paul Scrivens

Girl Stuff Community — Posted: Jul. 22, 2008  ...   Last By: Tyme @ 1 day ago

1. If you have any hot friends we will think about having sex with them. It doesn't mean we will consider having sex with them, just that we will think about it. It is not something that can be stopped, just let it flow, doesn't make us love you any less.

2. If you have any friends that are cute and just really nice to us and we get along with them we will think about having sex with them. It doesn't mean we will consider having sex with them, just that we will think about it.

3. Looks certainly matter to us, but we will take the cute girl at the office that we get along with over the hot witch any day of the week. In fact we might not even find a girl attractive until after a couple of months of getting to know her. This doesn't mean we still aren't dogs.

4. Although we enjoy watching porn, it doesn't mean we want you to be like that in bed. Sure you can do some crazy stuff from time to time, but we don't want ultra high-paced excitement all the time. We do need variety though and if it's our faults for making us fall into a routine, let us know or change it up yourself.

5. Again with the porn. We like the women in the porn, doesn't mean we want to marry the women in the porn. We like our women looking normal, not as though they setup shop with every guy in the neighborhood.

6. The quickest way for us to stop being faithful to our women is for our women to stop trusting us and letting it show. If you have a good man show your trust, but the moment you start to show you don't trust him going out with his friends and putting that leash on him we will start to stray.

7. Go out for girl's night. We beg you. We love to go out with the boys, but when you never go out with your friends, we start to feel guilty and the guilt keeps us home, which keeps us unhappy.

8. Use your hands. That is all I will say about that.

9. If there is something you hate about us you have two options: love it or leave it. We won't change. It's not in our DNA. We might change for a second, but we will revert back to it eventually. You can't stop nature.

10. If you don't like watching sports, don't feel as though you have to sit with us to watch them. We are perfectly fine watching the game by ourselves. Don't ruin our experience.

Cosmo's Most Creative Sex Positions Ever

Now I'm not really interested in the positions they talk about, but more the effect Cosmo has on the female race. Is it really "the bible" for all things sexual and women or is that just a past thing because it amazes me the advice they give. It's good advice because it always seems to be about keeping the man happy so I can't complain, but it seems so blatantly obvious to me that I am baffled any woman wouldn't know these things.

Sex standing up? What? People do that? Oh, I never knew that. Come on.

I'd say that I am going to get a new notebook and possibly desktop within the next 12 months so the next upgrade will be interesting to see since it fits within my timespan. I know not too many people hope for this, but I'm hoping for a decent graphical update in the notebooks to give them a bit more juice than what they currently have.

You can keep the rest of the fancy stuff.

Are Facebook Ads Going to Zero? Lookery Lowers Its Guarantee to 7.5-Cent CPMs

Marketing Community — Posted: Jul. 22, 2008

This doesn't surprise me at all and is a big problem for Facebook. At least Myspace was aware from the beginning what to do to gain revenue and wasn't ashame to just plaster the ads on there. Facebook, while I have respect for what they do, tried to keep it too clean and give targetted ads that just don't pull any weight.

With so many pageviews, an advertiser can see their campaign for the month gone in a couple of hours so who would be willing to pay a premium on the CPM rates?

» Font / Background contrast  ...  Last Reply: 2 days ago by Ozone42.

I think it depends greatly on what the colors are, when you are talking about two colors that are in complete contrast with each other (white font on black background) then no it isn't easier. Throw in an off-white with a gray background like the one seen at Daring Fireball then I can see how it is easier to read.

You have to be careful with theorycrafting in WoW because it only takes effect if you twink or at endgame. Plus you need to be in the endgame instances to really appreciate it, otherwise you are just pretending you won the lottery and what you would do with the money.

I'm really looking forward to Diablo and SC2. Diablo a bit more since I missed the D2 train and it has a lot of similarities to WoW.

Oh god, fix up their website...oh I have to scroll down in the little box to see the video...bah the video didn't show real gameplay. Is it like those games where you remove one color combo and another set fills in and you just keep going till the screen is gone?

The Games You Can't Put Down

Games Community — Posted: Jul. 21, 2008  ...   Last By: Tyme @ 2 days ago

I know me and my friends have an issue with games and that is if we applied ourselves in other areas of life like we do the games we play we would be hugely successful. The problem is games offer enjoyment and diving into them and getting loss isn't something that I ever regret, but it is something I look forward to. The game that did that for me was World of Warcraft.

Before that it was Civilization. Before that Halo. At any time in my life there always seems to be a game that I just can't put down because I am looking at new ways to improve or discovering new things. I love games that seem to have an endless depth to them that allows me to uncover the goods every hour I play.

Some of the more throwback games that I always had trouble putting down were King's Quest III (points if you even remember that game), Super Mario Bros 3 and Sonic 2.

We all have them, what's your's?

NBC gives Fallon webisodes to hone his late-night chops

Television Community — Posted: Jul. 21, 2008

Jimmy Fallon, the American "comic" perhaps best known for thinking himself so funny on Saturday Night Live that he routinely cracked up at his own lines, isn't content with just profaning remakes of films like Fever Pitch; he's also slated to get his own late-night slot on NBC next year when Conan O'Brien takes over Jay Leno's Tonight Show spot. But NBC isn't tossing him out into the living rooms of America without some time spent first in the minor leagues—in this case, the web.
