I thoroughly enjoyed that and eagerly await the next installment. I'm sitting here about to fall off my bed from laughing so hard. It's all so, so true. :D

» How long to design CSS site?  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by alexhackbart.

It all depends.
I've thrown sites together in 8 hours, then troubleshot the code for an additional 8.

And some have taken me weeks, if not months (those are usually personal projects and I'm my own worst client).

I don't use any proper method at all. I ususally get a vision in my head of what I want then I pound it out in xhtml/CSS. Usually spending the entire night doing so and crawling into bed at dawn, if at all.

The spark hits me in a hailstorm and leaves with a whimper.

What movie are you looking forward to?

I saw a trailer for Fracture last night and it looks really interesting.

I also need to see Black Snake Moan. I'll see anything with Christina Ricci in it, and Samuel L. Jackson is simply awesome.

And I'll give a look to anything by the guys who did Hustle & Flow. A purely brilliant film.

300 was visually stunning.

Time Bandtis (1981, John Cleese, Sean Connery, time traveling midgets, what's not to love) was a random romp through time and suitably ridiculous.

Sex, Lies and Videotape was entertaining.

The Shooter was quite good. I vastly enjoyed it. Though whenever I see Mark Wahlberg, I get flashes of Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch.

Little Miss Sunshine, saw that again last night. Still very funny.

Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick back to back. That was a lot of fun. I enjoy both films immensely and had never seen them back to back. Made more sense that way, and picked up a special edition with the animated short which ties them together even more. Very, very much enjoyed.

I watch a lot of movies.

» Are you a touch typer?  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by estarla.

I'm a touch typer. I don't do it the textbook way though. I was never able to untrain myself from my mile-a-minute finger method but I can still blow through 65-70 wpm.

Though a couple years ago when I worked at a teen help site, I typed closer to 95 wpm as I was answering 50 emails per week and spending hours in the chatroom there.

But seriously, I now work in technical support and it pains me to see how other tech people hunt and peck their way through a screen over and over again. It's painful to watch.

Touch typing was actually my biggest fear with the MacBook's new keyboard layout. But my big fingers are right at home on its flatter, larger keys.

» Do you love where you live?  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by SimplyJessica.

No, but I seem to never be happy where I live when I live there.

I grew up in a tiny town in rural northern Virginia.
I now live in Richmond, VA.

I've visited Costa Rica and it is amazingly beautiful down there. And they have sloths! :D

I've often thought about moving out to Utah/Colorado. I love that you can be in a huge city like Salt Lake City and Denver but then a few minutes drive can put you out into the middle of nowhere.

I like that... maybe one day I'll move out West somewhere, or over seas...

» Simplicity Is Beautiful  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by cpoteet.

I think simplicity is beautiful. It's the direction I've taken on my new redesign, that once I squash all the bugs in Textpattern I'll bring live to my site.

I think I've gotten wary of being bombarded with tons of glitz and glam and advertising everywhere I go. My visual field is cluttered with the corpses of ads left to die and new ones to feast on the remains. When I see a simple, uncluttered design, it brings a smile to my face.
