To say nothing of those who work in IT Support, especially at the desktop level. Not a day goes by when I don't have a user complaining about the "helpless desk" they have to call to get things like password resets done because they can't understand them. To say nothing of when simple tasks take 4 times as long because you have to e-mail or IM someone across the world.

I knew Seagate bought Maxtor, but I thought I remembered a deal going down years ago where Maxtor and Western Digital got together in the consumer space.
I recall one selling their consumer HD business to the other, but my Google skills fail me (or perhaps it's my memory).

I have an idea. ;-)

Since my most interesting photo is the same shot as the one I posted in the other thread of my LG chocolate phone, I'll skip to number two.

This is Jamespig. A friend's guinea pig that I took care of for over a year when she moved to Canada. He was a great pet and a great listener. He died last year and this shot is 7 Pigs In A Wheek. A daily site I kept for my friend where I posted a new picture of him every day, and even had a webcam on him later on.

RIP Jamespig.

Well, my girlfriend will be 200 miles away at school so I am going to go to work (super lame) then go see V.A.S.T. that night with a friend up in Northern Virginia.

Should be a great time. I wish it was my girlfriend I was going with, but another friend will have to do.

The only possible good thing to come out of it could be a new name.

I really love this thread, the results are amazing. A nice seemingly random (but actually not so random) collection of pictures.

That was my intent. I admit. ;-)

• Kidney Thieves - amazing haunting vocals over industrial grooves
• Saul Williams - 3 albums as diverse as the man himself. Amazingly intelligent spoken word / rap-hip-hop though I feel calling it "rap" does it injustice
• Flyleaf - I know very little about them, other than I dig their record
• Gym Class Heroes - that girlfriend song stays in my head for weeks
• M.I.A. - Paper Planes is an amazingly catchy and awesome tune! Go find it NOW!
• Sigur Ros - I feel the need to plug them any chance I get. Their music is unlike anything I've heard and it's beautiful

Drummer smashes out beats with the fury of a thousand metalheads moshing.

Also, Two Ton Boa.
They're a no guitar, 2 bass, keyboard, drums, vocals setup and they're freakin amazing live.

I don't know much about indie music but these two acts I saw recently blew my mind. :)

Yeah, I saw the Dresden Dolls live which was also my introduction to them and all I can say is WOW! The music on CD is great but it pales in comparison to how Amanda and Brian play off each other in person. Coin Operated Boy for instance was just brilliant. :D

And I noticed the similarity between the girl from Kittie and Flyleaf too.

In unrelated news, I love that there is a Flyleaf song in Rock Band. :D

Good call with "Hurt". IMO Johnny Cash made the definitive version. Something about his voice made the whole thing painfully real.

Yeah, even Trent admitted that Hurt is now Cash's song.

These are some really interesting results. I was completely perplexed when I saw what mine was. Good variation and collection so far. Please keep them coming. :)

I've always wished there was a way to compile something like a "most popular photos from X group" or a "show me all photos with over X views or a top ten per user.

I think it's totally intriguing what people latch on to and what photo gets the most views, out of what I would suspect is probably a pretty diverse batch of photos in anyone's account.

Wow! That's an awesome live shot! I saw him back during the Mechanical Animals Tour and that was well worth the admission for the people watching alone. :)

Cameron Moll did a Wicked Worn Series some time ago with some great step-by-step examples and other resources.
That should get you started.
