It is, it is, very nice!
It is, it is, very nice!
I never have trouble falling asleep for a nap. It comes easy for me.
I agree with Gnorb, don't call a person out, in posts.
Be polite, even if you disagree with someone. You might not go along with their opinion, etc., but you can agree to disagree, and then move on, without causing a nasty commotion.
On the plane on the way to L.A., last Thursday night, I saw country singer Winona Judd sitting in first class.
That is it for recent sightings.
Wear it, wear it!
I have hats for different aspects of my life. I wear a straw hat that has a wide brim all around it when I garden.
I wear a pink cap when I participate in a 5k or 10k running event, which has a breast cancer logo on it.
I have a neat velvet hat that I wear in the winter, when I go out somewhere special. I have a crochet slouchy type hat that my daughter made for me for every day wear in winter, in my favorite color, purple.
I like hats...they are fun to wear!
I so dislike it when candidates appear on talk and entertainment shows.
Leave the guitars and lessons out of it.
I do the same thing that Joe does.
@RightOn: Andy Goldsworthy's work is amazing, in the natural form and the photographic form.
Happy birthday to you! Enjoy your day.
Every Friday is a good Friday to me, just as the other days of the week are good days.
Happy birthday, bloglily! The best!
Someone mentioned Paula Abdul last year, I believe, on 9rules, and I had stated that I thought she had a medical disorder.
I read recently that she apparently was diagnosed reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD)in 2004. They think she has had the problem since an accident when she was 17-years old. Many neurological disorders and other disorders are difficult to diagnose, and it often takes years for the true medical issue to be known.
She is an advocate for the multiple sclerosis cause (MS), and has done some charity benefits to help with raising funds for MS. I really feel that many people are too quick to judge a person, and don't consider the alternatives to exhibited behavior.
I even think she might have MS and/or another neurological disorder, in addition to RSD, and is not ready to state as such. But either way, she does have a documented medical condition. Many actors/actresses are fearful of admitting such, as they are afraid they won't be hired or even thought of for acting roles.
There are several actors, Dudley Moore being one, and people thought he was a drunk due to the way he spoke, walked, etc. He had MS, and died of the disease. There is another actor, I can't think of his name, but he was on the sitcom Laverne and Shirley, and he had slurred speech, walked like he was drunk, etc., and he was diagnosed with MS years ago, and is now permanently wheelchair bound. He sees the same neurologist as a friend of mine, who also has MS. My friend is now on permanent disability due to the debilitating effects of her MS, leaving her unable to even care for her personal needs, at times. If one were to see her walk down the street, they would think she was drunk. If they heard her speak, her speech would be slurred.
Annette Funicello, formerly of the Mickey Mouse Club, has MS, Teri Garr, so many others, and they demonstrate the same symptoms, and much worse in some cases.
I give Paula Abdul a lot of credit for standing up and continuing on (even with her medical issues) in the face of all of the verbal garbage she has had to put up with.
Oh, and I so dislike Cowell.
*Yawn, yawn, yawn* Lorri here, on her purple chair that looks like a queen's throne.
Yes, welcome to everyone, old, and old alike. We are the cranky crowd!
bloglily: I so remember that chocolate gavel. Yum.
I think it is a good and positive move!
The book actually came out in May of 2007. You must be talking about the release of the paperback.
It's nice that it's free, but I prefer reading offline, and not reading a book online.
All of my work is officially copyrighted through the U.S. copyight office. I have paid the fees to have it all officially copyrighted.
Paying the fee to have your work officially copyrighted, gives you a certificate of copyright, which is an official document, and a legal one, and valid in a court of law. It states your name, the title of your work, the type of work, the year, the Library of Congress's catalogue number, etc., on it. It offers protection above and beyond a simple copyright icon and statement on a blog or website. The copyright holder is legally protected with this document.
An official copyright certificate validates the copyright holder. It is extremely useful, valid and viewed as such legally in a U.S. court of law.
A relative has a server, and I'm using it.
The truth can set you free.
It should be, like jark said, instantaneous. Not all CC companies work slow. I have returned merchandise to major department stores, and the credit is intantaneous. What should not be occurring is the continual billing to my CC, as I said above. I had automatic billing disabled, long before all of this began. Disabled. Yet, they still managed to bill my card, not once, but twice, as recently as yesterday. My CC company has been notified, and if they try to charge to the card again, there will be major repercussions for them, through the CC company and its investigation into the issue.
I've yet to receive credited refunds, or a response to my second email. It is totally unacceptable.
And, for most of the U.S., Monday is a holiday, so banks will be closed, and it will affect those who have a credit card combined to their bank account, or those who used a debit card. I find that the time frame is interesting and bizarre.
Their unprofessional attitude to the entire debacle is deplorable. In fact in the email I received at approximately 2:00 pm, January 15th, they told me I had nothing to worry about. Right. That's why they billed me again, yesterday.
Theoretically they are supposed to be refunding all the money that was charged incorrectly. Theoretically. The reality is, I was supposed to be refunded my money for the two incorrect charges of $120 ($240 total) on my account. I have an email from them dated Januar 15th stating that.
But, guess what, they are not refunding my money, but charging me another $120 again, as of close of business today, January 17th, according to my credit card statement.
And, I don't have automatic billing...it has been turned off for several years, but they somehow managed to bill me.
For me it would be my family, family photographs, my cameras and equipment, pen and journals or paper to write on, music, coffee.
Thank you, RightOn/James.
"Lord of the Rings had the movie being better than the book. We all have to admit that."
Speak for yourself, and don't speak for me. I will never admit to that, and as far as I'm concerned the book was far superior to the movie. :)
I think the ambiton of all of the candidates outweighs their desire to serve.
The state I vote in uses Diebold touchscreens. There was a problem with them last year in two or three counties, but it supposedly didn't affect the actual voting.
There were several amazingly fantastic moments in 2007.
1. The birth of my granddaughter in May.
2. Seeing my son, daughter, and my grandchildren, in the same room at the same time for a few days (the first time we were all together since 1994). We have seen each other separately through the years. My son lives in Japan, my daughter lives in CA. I live in the U.S., but not in CA. We all had fantastic time in CA.
3. Having a family portrait taken, during the above time period.
4. I had a wonderful family reunion dinner in CA, one evening, with my children, grandchildren, my brother, my nephews (and their families), etc.
5. Did I mention my fantastic few days with my children and grandchildren?!
It is so tragic...so sad...so horrific.
To think, she came out of exile on October 18th, and this is the result.
The world has lost an icon of humaneness.
I don't celebrate Christmas, but did celebrate Hanukkah a few days back, as I am Jewish.
Yes, bah humbug me!
Happy holiday season to all, and have a fantastic 2008.
How sweet and thoughtful! Your friends think a lot of you.
It isn't unusual to see a 16-year old get pregnant...sad but true...
I have a no solicitors sign on my door that reads:
"No solicitors...including religious solicitors.
If I don't know you, I will not open my door.
Period...the end."
I have had a shower door in the past, and chose to go with shower curtains in my current home. I disliked the doors immensely.
I use a shower curtain liner on the inside, and a decorative shower curtain on the outside.
I love my entire package.
Yes, Lily, that is so true, so many people don't want to think that far ahead, as far as estate planning goes. It is extremely important, and if one is creating a prenup, that could also be a part of their package, to ensure their children receive assets you want to leave them. One never knows what will happen and when they will die. In my own family, my father died unexpectedly at the age of 45, and I am cognizant of that fact, and have taken necessary estate planning steps.
In my opinion, in this day and age of divorce and blended families, one has to protect their assets that they have before marriage, and a prenup is the perfect way to do it.
Even though CA law states that what was yours before marriage (all personal property...house, assets), is yours when you divorce, I would still think that a prenup would be necessary if you had children from a previous marriage, and you were marrying someone with children of their own. If you have no intention of adding your new spouse to the deed of your house, or of having them be the beneficiary of your assets, it would seem the sensible thing to do for the sake of your own children, in case of divorce or in case something happened to you, to be sure that property/assets owned before marriage become the property of your own children, if that is who you want your assests to go to.
Many women make more money than men do, now, and they aren't taking all the money, but are earning all the money. Along with that, they want as secure a future for their own children as possible.
