usually starts with something like radiohead to get my initial focus, then ramps up to mf doom and ghostface killah, into daedelus and perfuse 73 and ends with random thrash metal and aphex twin.

» Why do so many web designers talk about web standards on their portfolio sites?  ...  Last Reply: 9 months ago by Stever.

a lot of people talk about standards in ther portfolios/interviews, just so they sound like they know wtf they are doin. like ozone mentioned standards are really not as important as usability. i mean what difference does it make how fast your site loads, if i can't read it?

» How Do You Present Your Archives to Visitors?  ...  Last Reply: 11 months ago by bitsonewmedia.

again, i think i'm gonna be the odd man out here. I don't provide any type of archive view on my site, i considered it a wasted space really considering the low number of posts i had. also my design is single column, which only leaves me with the option of a superfooter, which ain't my cup of tea. have no other side pages like contact or about so creating a navigation link was also out of the question. so what do i do for archive? NOTHING. i have pagination going so if someone wants to look at older posts, they can just go back a couple pages. Once i get more going, maybe i'll consider doing something about that, but until then, its not a big deal.

flcl, spirited away or champloo

i love gainax's frantic style of fight and blending of different art styles. and bebop/champloo really needs no explination.

spirited away is a masterwork, and should be seen by every anime fan

although most people only know t-pain for the talkbox singing (if thats what you want to call that), it was orginally made famous by Zapp. but i think it was a fresh thing for snoop to do and i think it paid off well.

great eats from your neck of the woods

Food Community — Posted: Dec. 4, 2007  ...   Last By: Scrivs @ 6 months ago

So for the new year i plan to do a lot more traveling then i have in the past, but usually when i'm on the road i have a problem finding good places to eat, and usually settle on fast food. so my question to you is, what are places to eat in your city/town that you'd recommend others check out. i do plan some international travel, so please post as well euros. i will start

if you're in san fran and looking for a great burger, there are 2 great places i can name off hand

holy grille, on townsend street in SOMA
and custom burger on 7th and mission st

both are great, friendly places with damn good food aside from just burgers. custom burger has an adjoined bar so you can get food and get a good drink at the same time.

» Your philosophy  ...  Last Reply: 11 months ago by auburn.

ok this is probably gonna be kinda harsh and silly sounding but what ever...

fuck you, pay me

basically, i refuse to be taken advantage of. i don't care who you are.

my names bennett and i ain't in it

please don't come to me with your drama because i have enough of my own, i don't need your shit piled on mine.

anything you can do, i can do better

most of the time its not true, but i'll be damned if i won't try to make it so. motivation is the key to my success.

» Do you shutdown in December?  ...  Last Reply: 12 months ago by dbme.

i'd love to shut down, but since my work is contract i don't get paid when i don't work, so slow down is not an option. especially when i have to pay for round trip ticket from san fran to dc for holiday

» Are you buying a PS3 for Christmas?  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by a_romig.

seems i am in the minority here. i will be shortly selling my 360 for a PS3.

the only reason i bought my 360 was to find out what the big deal about halo was. and now that halo and the xbox live community is grating away at my sanity, its time to go get my long waited ps3. with the japanese release of Gran Turismo 5:prologue and Unreal a couple weeks away, i have more then enough reasons to switch. besides halo and project gotham, the games i own on my 360 are multi console anyway so there is no loss if i decide i indeed wanna play them again. 'm also interested in the dvd upscaling/blu ray as well as a better option for streaming content from my computer. also as far as the ps3 interface i love it. the 360 dashboard reminds me of a mcdonalds playmat, ugly themes crowded with ads. i like simplicity, and lets not forget the newly added remote play with the psp of which i do own.

so while most of you would require the ps3 include a baby in order to buy one, i see plenty already there.

» Is College still Necessary?  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by mefisto.

well creative, a lot of places do background checks and that sometimes includes school.

as for the overall question of this topic, i think you only need to go to college for things that involve people's health and well being. IE doctor, lawyer, structural engineer, etc. As for my personal experience, college was the largest waste of money i've ever done. I taught myself more then I EVER learned in college. you don't need college to make you a better person, or give you discipline, these are things you can get on your own with hard work and dedication to your goals. I don't need to pay for a lecture on a book i can get on amazon and read myself while workin on the side to develop my skill set and resume.

i myself have no degree in anything, but i make more then both of my parents and i'm only 25. if my lazy ass can do it, anyone can

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say my name is eric. Self taught, former lead designer for AOL Video out in VA, now designer for Adobe living in San Fran.

I'm usually on my computer, mixing music, yelling at people or figuring out how to string together four letter words to write posts for my blog badtofu. I'm currently working on a few designs for small tshirt/hoodie line as well as a side project for vinyl toy collectors. I'm a big fan of graffiti and sticker art and checking out the hidden gems of the city. I'm also a pretty damn good cook :D

Other then that I really don't have much to tell you.
