Ahh.. this is an easy one for me to answer. Beef stew with a hearty broth and mixture of veggies along with a great hunk of fresh hard bread and butter. Nothing seems more comforting to me.

What is you're favorite Coffee or Coffee Based Drink?

Food Community — Posted: May. 11, 2007  ...   Last By: malitic @ 1 year ago

This is a topic close to my heart. I grew up believing coffee would stunt my growth, that it was a vile elixir that no sane person would drink.

And for the majority of my life I had no problem holding onto that belief. I was of the Mountain Dew generation and that was just fine by me.

As I grew older I came to enjoy, admire and love coffee in all of its forms. The topic being posed is something I always like asking people about -- Favorite coffee.

Some like it hot, some like it cold, some like it in the form of ice cream, a lot of variations. I'm always on the lookout for new ideas to try.

What is my favorite coffee?

It's funny you should ask. My favorite coffee actually encompasses a method and a region. I am a huge fan of French Press coffee.

Sure there are many great coffee makers, but for me nothing tops the simple pleasure of letting good coffee brew with unfettered access to the coffee grounds.

Couple this with freshly roasted kona beans (preferably roasted by your own hand), and you have the makings for a little slice of heaven.

As far as espresso based drinks, what can I say, I am a sucker for a good cappuccino. Go figure. LOL.

As a general rule when the blog being viewed is more about the ads than the content, I tend to quickly become disinterested. I guess on some level i have never fully embraced the idea that my blog could be an income generating medium.

I am a big fan of marytree for two reasons. One she is my friend, and two she does the most amazing crafts/projects. Truly a free spirit.

Chances are this will not be the winner, but I thought you would get a laugh out of watching an amusing video I took of my family playing musical chairs, imagine a bull in a china shop ... and without any further delay:

» What Would You Do For Love?  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by Cheek2Cheeksmiles.

Our love for one another is imperfect, because we by our nature are imperfect. That being said there are transcendental moments when people can obtain for the slightest moment a glimmer of what pure love is.

I say a glimmer because only God is perfect and able to sustain such love, all we can hope for is the opportunity to experience it in a manner that does not result in our death.

So what would I do for someone I love? As much as I can.

Well I hope I didn't put much of a negative spin on ads, I certainly have nothing against them, a lot of people make money with them and I am all for people making money doing something they love.

Hey thanks for the replies -- I've always thought any revenue that I make will come from paid sponsor ads. Of course the trick there is well, getting sponsors!

Nothing beats an intense workout followed by a hot shower to get me to sleep. Now mind you when I say intense, I mean Navy Seal intense (or at least your perception of what Navy Seal training is like).

"Yonkers Come Here" was the last anime movie I have seen. Not terribly exciting I know, but my son wanted to watch it so we did.

Blog Ads - Necessary Evil?

Blogging Community — Posted: May. 10, 2007  ...   Last By: divabat @ 9 months ago

I can remember thinking to myself before I started my blog how much I hated having to look at ads on wordpress.com, myspace etc. In truth this was one of my motivating factors early on to getting my own domain.

As thought turned to questions about potential revenue I found myself flirting with the idea of adding adsense to my site. It quickly became evident to me that a lot of bloggers with their own sites whole heartedly embrace the concept.

After a quick trip to problogger.net and its tips on how to make money with blogging, I was hooked -- I needed adsense, I was going to make millions of dollars (or at least enought to pay for my hosting service).

Right away my revenue was laughable, after a few months I had barely made enough to have a check cut. Reading more I determined that I needed more ads to increase revenue.

I played around with various template changes and slowly but surely started to hate looking at my blog. It had become what I hated to look at. So I ripped it all out and became ad free.

"And the boy was happy..." -The Giving Tree

So my question to you is this - If you employ ads on your blog, what method do you employ to balance the revenue making potential of blog ads versus your overall vision of design and presentation?

» Seinfeld's Kramer Is A Crazy Racist  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by cappuccino.

I don't think he is a racist, I think he was feeling the heckler heat and made a gigantic error in judgement in how he lashed back. He crossed the line to vastly inappropriate, why? Only he knows...

I think back to the Seinfeld "Jerk Store" comeback..

After discovering that Riley was let go from the Yankees and now works for Firestone, George flies to Akron, Ohio, sets up a meeting, and brings a tray of shrimp just to try out the Jerk Store line. When he says it, however, Riley shoots back with "What's the difference? You're their all-time best seller." George, unprepared for this ends up using Kramer's line "Oh Yeah? ...Well I slept with your wife!" He is then told that Riley's wife is in a coma.

Just my 2 cents.

I have a Motorola a910 that a friend gave me. Basically a Motorola phone that missed the release mark and was promptly replaced. Linux based and has great audio quality and takes better picture/video than any other phone I have had.

» Is your picture on your blog?  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by xine.

I've included a gravatar from time to time on my blog depending on the design that I am using more to just give the comments more of a personal touch than anything else.

My blog focuses on a fairly concise subject and I really want the blog to be more about the subject matter content than me. In the end it just comes down to personal preference.

I will say however with the growing number of employers doing web searches on potential employees that this trend could change how a lot of people with blogs treat the sharing of personal information.

» Do you ever hope that you won't turn out like your parents?  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by cappuccino.

Growing up (LOL, to find myself saying that is just funny) I can vividly recall reflecting on my parents rules and perceived injustices and swearing up and down how *I* would be different when I was "old" and had kids.

Well, at the ripe old age of 35 I look back at those times and chuckle. Of course I am not going to let my son do the things that I wanted to do. Being able to look through the glasses of experience I know now that my parents were only doing what was best for me.

And while the rose colored glasses of innocence made these injustices seem worse than many war crimes at the age of 16, time has given me the clarity needed to be, well just like my parents in some regards.
