» If I owned Google stock, I'd be freaking out...  ...  Last Reply: 10 months ago by Joe.

Tyme, I think people should avoid investment decisions in such an emotional period, except if they really need to cash in. I've bought GOOG at $ 465 with a target price of $ 650. I did not sell at $ 747 because the dollar was extremely low. I do not blame myself anyway, that's a long term investment for me, so I do not really care so much at the moment... I would bet it will approach $ 900 in the next 2/3 years. Hopefully it won't come back at $ 465...

» Who are the greatest all time singers, bands?  ...  Last Reply: 10 months ago by ericwindham.

Hey, Rolling Stone included Public Enemy and Run-DMC in the list and not Nick Drake, Pink Floyd, Jeff Buckley, Chet Baker?! Yes, it's very subjective!

Modest Mouse's "Little Motel" is one of my very favorite videos. Great song, amazing concept. It's just so cool!

» What's a GOOD Year for Your Portfolio?  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by affisch.

I've made 10% so far and I must say I'm pretty satisfied, especially considering the troubled markets' conditions... Couldn't ask for more, really. My portfolio split is now:

- 38% shares
- 31% funds
- 19% bonds
- 5% insurance
- 5% ETF/certificates
- 2% cash

Best performing: tech/green stocks, UK/turkish bonds, energy certificates and asian market funds. What about you?!

Well, it's like setting peace between human beings and the planet they live in. Quite a huge challange I would say... And Mr. Gore is definitely a master.

» Favorite new Radiohead song / album impressions  ...  Last Reply: 11 months ago by SaulGood.

"Nude" and "Reckoner" are my favorites so far. Yes, maybe it cannot compete with The Bends, Pablo Honey or OK Computer, but keep listening. It's getting better and better every time I listen to it (now I'm at #5 or so...).

» Radiohead's New Album: What Would You Pay For It?  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by roycifer.

I'm a huge Radiohead fan, but I've paid "only" £ 2. I don't really care about the preview, since I'm pretty sure it will kick! I think this is just an amazing marketing move. Even if it won't pay out, when you're a multi-millionaire band those are the things people would expect from you.

Steal it!

Music Community — Posted: Sep. 22, 2007  ...   Last By: wickedwhammy @ 1 year ago

Trent Reznor is inviting his fans to steal NIN's music, at least until those "mother f---ers will get it through their head that they're ripping people off and that's not right".

What do you think? Why not leaving Universal and starting up an independent label then? Do top bands still need the majors' support?

» Where do you go for a custom blog design/designer?  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by kemioyes.

Yes, I agree that most people really enjoy the do-it-yourself experience of blogging. Me too! Even if I got some support for the logo and for a couple of other things :-)

I also think it's very important to consider that most of the readers now uses RSS. Which means: why should I invest in my blog's design if say 70% of my readers won't actually see it?

All companies wanna join the bandwagon building up something in that desolate land and of course the media seems to go crazy about that. Does it make any sense to you?

» Did you find Social Networking useful in business?  ...  Last Reply: 1 year ago by affisch.

Hey ludwikc. It does work both sides. My company (swedish) is using LinkedIn to find a replacement for me (managing director of the italian operations) and I've received quite a few opportunities through it. I think they can become a real cash machine, both through advertising and premium services. Apparently they're gonna make an IPO pretty soon...
