I play the fiddle--or at least used to, as I've been parted from it since I moved to Australia (but will soon be reunited!). At any rate, I'm curious if there are many other 9rules musicians out there, and, if so, what instruments you play and what your favorite piece to play is.

I play mostly traditional Celtic tunes. My favorite tune to play is "The Blarney Pilgrim." Here is what it mostly sounds like, though there are small variations:

I play a percussion instrument called tabla. One of the pieces I want to be able to play is the tabla in fusion piece Making Music (preview) by Zakir Hussain.

Sounds very relaxing!

I play guitar. I'm really digging the new Jonathan Coulton hit, Still Alive. It's just a simple couple chord progressions you can embelish various ways, but the lyrics make it a blast.

On the more complicated side, I'm working on some guitar pieces by Yasunori Mitsuda.

The cake is a lie, dammit. :(

Glen Miller's In the Mood, playing bass trombone.

Wow, it's pretty interesting to see how many different instruments are played among us all.

I play guitar and bass as my primary instruments. I'm dangerous enough on keys that I can do my own key/synth parts.

I cannot play drums, but I can program a mean drum loop!!!

Ohh, ohh - I can beat box too!

Careless Whisper by George Michael on the piano. One of my most favorite songs of all time both to listen to and to play. Its music and lyric are so haunting to me.

Piano cause it takes two hands to play a good piece :)

That good piece would be some classical music somewhere somehow.
