I can't remember the last itme I saw reviews this good. Of course I would go to see it anyway. I can't wait, maybe tomorrow.

I definitely plan on seeing it, hopefully on the IMAX. I'm not even a big Batman fan, but I'm very excited to check this out.

I'll see it, but I'm going to wait it out a bit (maybe a couple of weeks). I'll do the Imax version too...looks like an Imax kinda show.

Usually when the "professional" critics love a movie, I usually end up hating it.

If my friends end up loving it, it's usually bad ass.

I've seen it.

One Word: Brilliance.

A sentence: I nearly peed my pants because I couldn't bear to leave my seat to head for the toilets.

I repeat,

Brilliance.

Pure awesomeness. In fact. I'm planning to watch it again. It is overhyped though and it is not the second coming. But watching the Joker play up totally makes up for it.

Never has darkness been so delicious.

It was so awesome. The parallels they drew in that movie... The action scenes were much more developed and integral to the plot than Batman Begins (and I own that DVD). And the way they saved Batman from being a flat character was done really well.

Dunno so much about Maggie Gyllenhaal so much but she was much better than Katie Holmes (not that that bar is raised very high).

Seeing Heath's performance made me sad but just so in awe of his talent - you can really see how much he lost himself in that role. It was pure genius. He really did give me chills.

I loved this movie and how dark it was. Joker hands down made the movie for me. His character was amazing. I'd highly recommend seeing this on an IMAX if you get the chance.

Saw it this afternoon.

The beginning seems a bit rushed, with quick edits to several different locales/scenes but the middle to end is spectacular. Ledger deserves all the accolades for his Joker, it's a sight to behold and how I always envisioned the Joker to be...a unrepentant sociopath out to just cause mayhem because he can.

I was a little bummed by how Dent was treated, Two-Face is one of Batmans deepest villains but he seemed out of sorts here. They should have saved him for the 3rd film.

oh and Maggie Gyllenhaal is butt-ugly, the whole melting-puppy-dog look her face has is sometimes even scarier than the Jokers.

Saw it this weekend and I thought it was good, but not great, and certainly not as good as everyone made it out to be.

Many plot points play out at the same time as each other, but few are given the thorough examination needed to really care about what is going on and what the consequences are for those involved.

I agree with TJenkins, Maggie Gyllenhaal sucked in the role and was utterly forgettable. When events were taking place that involved her I couldn't care less. She was horrible.

Heath was fantastic as the Joker, especially his first real scene after the bank heist in the beginning (the first 5 minutes of the film have been available to watch for some time now so hopefully everybody already knows this!)

I have yet to see it but it sounds awesome.

The Conservo-nuts on the radio this AM were blasting the movie because it's PG-13, extremely violent and yet they're marketing toys to 6 year olds.

I would have to smack someone who had not pre-screened the movie and brought their 9 year old to see it, it's PG-13 for a reason... but come on it's BATMAN... how can you NOT market toys off the film.

I don't know so much about the "active" marketing to 6 year olds (I guess I've yet to observe an example). I think the only reason it got its PG-13 was because it wasn't bloody, per se, but definitely violent! Also was a bit of a psychological thriller in that way, more than all-out gore.

I think my next stop in a few weeks would be IMAX.

@TJenkins: That's so interesting you noticed the beginning was rushed. I would agree - but also with the movie itself being 2.5 hrs already I guess it's just a real challenge to fit all that material in. At the same time, when it ended, to me it did not seem like it was a 2.5 hr movie. Or actually, my friend told me he was checking his watch and thinking, "Oh good, I still have __ min of this movie."

I was super excited to see it and I wasn't disappointed. The movie was really awesome. I'm so happy they put Maggie in as the new Rachel. I don't think I would have enjoyed it so much if Kate Holmes had been in the role again.

Guess it's a must for me this week.

estarla... having a 6 year old I'm constantly monitoring what she watches on Nickelodeon and Disney Channel...

There are advertisements showing boys in the 6-10 market dressing up as and playing with "Batman: The Dark Knight" movie toys... when they're WAY too young to be watching such a movie.

I'm assuming it's on par or slightly higher in the "violence" than Batman Begins was... and that is off limits for my 6 year old.

If anyone knows if there is a regular vs IMAX comparison link it up please.

@RightOn: Yeah I would agree - definitely off-limits for a 6 year old. I would be hesitant with even 10 year olds! (Based on my limited knowledge and experience with kids that is. :P ) Clowns have seriously been the scariest thing for me my entire life. I don't know how children ever got entertained by clowns. Just the make-up and the fake happiness and joy is freaky. And so with Joker and his face make-up ... that's just a recipe for disaster.
