From the Clip Make Your Web Site Work for You posted by Tyme:
Your Web site isn't "about" your company, it's an extension of your company. If it's unprofessional, you're unprofessional. If it's cluttered, you're cluttered. If it's hard to work with, you're hard to work with. By contrast, if it's well put together, smart, and easy to use, so is your company. At least that's what people will perceive.
I was doing good (I agreed with the author) until I got to the example sites.
Health Barn
Revat Fitness
Walter & Ping Ping
Walter & Ping Ping is a good example but the other two? Um, ok, if the author says so.
How much does the company website impact your perception of the company? For me, I have to admit it does make a difference if I am searching online. Of course it "could" be that the malicious person makes a wonderful site to lure people in.

Once the author validates the first two examples as good quality the rest of the article almost goes out the window if he wasn't speaking the truth. Just a shame he used such a poor example. Your website is no difference than your physical appearance, it speaks volumes about you. I can't remember buying anything from a website that had a less than adequate design going for it.
