From the Clip Barack Obama meets troops in Kuwait, makes 3-pt jumper on first try posted by Tyme:
Sen. Barack Obama arrived in the Middle East on Saturday, met with American forces and, according to a U.S. official, is expected to meet Sunday with Afghan President Hamid Karzai.
Not the most important skill for the President to have, but it definitely is cool. I'm glad this side of him is coming out - although I'm sure it won't be long before someone puts a negative spin on it.

Wow, he can shoot hoops :D
I'll never get why the sports abilities of our candidates, or where they like to fish etc. make headline news... but their policy decisions and all the other things that actually DO matter when electing someone like a PRESIDENT never seem to make a ripple.
I heard a guy on the radio explain why he is voting for Obama yesterday and among his "solid reasons" were:
- he's nice looking
- he'll "save the world" (yet he couldn't expand on HOW)
- he's a good speaker
So a handsome man, who has good speech writers can "save the world" and can knock out some 3 pointers with the President of Iran...
Sign me up.

For many people they put their trust in people they can relate to. If I showed this video to some of the local boys in the neighbor it would gain their interest - THEN his thoughts on politics, etc. would come into play.
Isn't that like looks being the first to attract someone? If the woman isn't having the guy's baby that shouldn't be in the top tier - but if it is and that's ok, then it is perfectly understandable why basketball, what a presidential candidate eats, etc. would have an appeal. It's just an extension on what causes us to "like" people.

Charisma always trumps policy. Always.

Men like to trust other men and if you can't make a 3 you aren't trustworthy.

I think a President should be trustworthy... but that comes second to their stated goals and policy in my book.
Adolph Hitler was charismatic (how else do you get a nation behind you like that...) he said what they wanted to hear and look where that got Germany.
Now before your head explodes... Obama is NOT anything close to Adolph Hitler... I'm just saying, Charisma ain't always a GOOD thing.

Making a 3 on the first try can't HURT a presidential candidate, I'm thinking...
