hey guys,
What did you guys think of Middle school? I mean I can't really remember MS and I would like to know other peoples experiences. I remember highschool. but for some reason, i can't remember MS!!!

6th grade = awesome.
7th grade = awesome and traumatizing.
8th grade = negligible.

Back in the day, I had junior high (grades 7,8,9) and then high school. It was lonely, I didn't fit.

I think middle school/junior high is the absolute most awkward age range for humans, regardless of schooling. I have friends that teach the age group, and they swear that they are the most unbalanced and unhappy kids period.

The good thing is they grow out of it. I have a lot of fond memories of 6th and 8th grades. 7th seems to be pretty blank. If I really concentrate I can kind get a fuzzy impression.

Middle school made me want to gouge out my eyes with a grapefruit spoon. Over a decade later, I am still recovering. Seriously, though - parts of it were really, really bad, but I made some friends that I've kept all these years.

I actually went to a junior high (seventh and eighth grade only) that was a middle school by name only. Seventh grade I was picked on quite a bit, but I do remember having a lot of fun. Eighth grade, however, was absolute hell. But I think being thirteen is hard on almost everyone.

I just remember thinking everything was SO SERIOUS. Omigod, so-and-so LOOKED at me, he must LOVE me. Omigod, my friend is mad because I bought the same shirt as her, my life is OVER. And I had about 30 crushes within those two years.

I remember getting beaten up a lot.

Frankly, I was a pretty sad case in middle school: Nearly 6 feet tall, 145 pounds, a total klutz. On the bright side, things really improved in high school.

Strangely enough, I really enjoyed junior high (7th, 8th, 9th, where I was). I had pretty good friends, some great teachers, and I was at a small school (500 or so) that often had more of a family feel at times, than school.

It was high school I abhorred.

My middle school (7th, 8th grades) were absolutely traumatizing for me. I thought the kids were way more vicious than in high school. Middle school kids were a bunch of backstabbers and the nice kids always finished last!

I work in a Middle School but it's not really a cozy, neighborhood type. It has a little more than 1000 students. The best thing about the bigness is that a person can find a huge variety of clubs, sports and a few other students who have similar interests. It's still about academic pressure and fitting in, though. Teachers are generally similar to ones I remember when I was a kid; some very creative, caring teachers and a few burnt out ones. School just is not always the top priority for the students I know. It's an inner city district and the kids sometimes have much more on their plate than remembering a book report due.
