I know that the 9rules design notes section is something like a forum, but I'm looking for something a little more traditionally bulletin-board-ish. I wouldn't make a post in notes here asking for a design critique, or looking for a solution to a problem. I only really write here on topics I'm really familiar with and it is a bit more formal.
I've looked everywhere for design forums (web, graphic, freelance, whatever) that don't suck.
Not trying to be an elitist, but forums like talkfreelance.com and even sitepoint.com/forums/ are really disappointing. "Review my site plz, thx" and it has no stylesheet or really coherent CSS, line break tags instead of paragraph tags, and image maps for navigations... and people tell them they're great.
I know we all started somewhere (and trust me, it was ugly), but I'm looking for more of the professional crowd. People who do this for a living and take pride in clean code, standards, and usability.
Google hasn't been much help. Figured I'd go to the source of people who think about design much like I do...

I would suggest checking out Mint Pages and the FreelanceSwitch Forums. They are both very informational and don't have all the garbage "Review my site plz, thx" posts in them.

Submitted an application to Mint, which sounds like what I'm looking for. Hopefully I'll be accepted there.
FreelanceSwitch looks interesting too. Bookmarked.
Thanks a lot Travis!

The most professional design forum I've come across.

Mint has the potential to be pretty cool, but unfortunately on a daily basis not a lot goes on there. I'm not sure if they don't have enough users or what. Also, the user base skews pretty young, which isn't necessarily a bad thing but it's something to keep in mind depending on what kind of information you're looking for.
