Since launch, Aelon has had 6 completely different designs. It also had 4 before we actually launched, so ten all up. Granted, this all spans a period of 5+ years, and the last 3 designs alone have been over the last 3 years.

Those first 2 years saw a lot of practice... after that I was generally happy enough with my own work to let it sit for a while.

11 full designs in 8 years

Only 1 redesign so far. Started in 2001, redesigned in 2003. But it really is high time to move things forward on mine.

Since January I'm on my fourth. There were a ton of free WP themes before that, so I just count the ones I've made for myself there. It's actually more like two, and the other two are more realigns then redesigns.

In 6 years leihu.com has had 45 launched redesigns and about 160 unreleased designs. I'm currently working on the 46th official redesign, and I'm on the 7th iteration of that design, which is the 5th fresh design I've made for the official 46th design.

Does that make any sense?

1lotus, has had 6 launched designs in 5 years, and about 35 unreleased designs, I just launched the 6th design last month, and it was the 15th iteration of the 10th fresh design I did for the 6th official design.

Again, does that make sense?

I had pretty much the same design the whole year or so I was a blogger. I left and had the same design for about seven months then found out about valid code etc and started looking at templates and have not found one yet. Technically you could say I haven't had one, or that I have had ten.

I'd like to find one and keep it a year.

In about half a year, I did 5 redesigns. It's just experimenting though. I like doing it.

Binary Moon has had 3 designs, only one as a blog. I am now on the second iteration of the design and working on the third... but the base has remained the same.

I don't like to keep changing the design of my sites. I go for evolution rather than revolution :)

I fear if I actually learned how to author my own design, redesign would become an addiction.

Once I found the Tarski theme for WordPress in December I've kept that theme for HappySoda and have customized it gradually every couple of weeks or so. These are mostly minor stylesheet customizations.

This is my 3rd, first two with standard Wordpress themes, this latest with a personal them.

I've had my domain for about a year or so. Initially, I used a free WP theme, which gradually changed as I learned how to do stuff. since then there's been 5/6 full design overhauls.

I'd expect that most people here are like me, in that you'll constantly tweak their site design. It'll be the death of me that tweaking.

I don't design my blog theme myself, but I've changed about 10 themes since my blog went live a year ago. I normally tweak the themes until I'm satisfied with it, and when a nicer one comes along, I switched it.

The current theme has been active for a couple of months though :)

I think 7-11 times or so. I can't really remember. There are probably dozens of unreleased designs, though. And hundreds that I've sketched on paper.

LOL @ peroty - I'm with you. In my mind - hundreds. Unfortunately, I'm not a designer so those never see the light of day. When I was on WordPress I would switch designs all the time because it was so simple to do (so many designs to chose from it's like changing clothes).

I find it interesting how many designs never get launched. I wish I had the skill to get what is in my brain where other people can see it. Kudos to people that can.
