From the Clip Sex for Gas posted by RightOn:
A woman was arrested and charged with prostitution after receiving a $100 Speedway gas card for sex.
I have never understood why things like this are illegal... the woman in this case wanted gas money and she had the means to obtain it through no harm to anyone else except (arguably) her self-esteem.
Sex between two consenting adults is 100% legal, but when goods are transferred it's suddenly a punishable offense?
Was the card stolen? Did the woman contract a deadly disease unknowingly? Was she forced to have sex for the card against her will? THOSE I can see as punishable offenses but come on! If I fed someone who was hungry and in return received sex as payment for said meal, I'm a criminal?

I gotta agree with you on this one, but I would also like to know how they found out? Cops going around doing undercover stings with gas cards now instead of money?
Cops are good people, go do good work and leave the sex for gas people alone.

The article says that the police were staking out the hotel where the "transaction" took place... I wonder what other ACTUAL crime was missed due to the manpower needed to bust someone getting their rocks off.

In the US, you can marry for money (and everyone knows it) but you can't have sex for it.
