So I finished a book this morning and started thinking about which novel I'd like to read next, which got me to thinking about what we'll be reading for December. I've done a little searching, so before I forget, I wanted to start the thread for proposed December fiction books. (I think having one thread for fiction & one for nonfiction/biographies would work well. What about you?) So, without further ado, here are several books that are on my short list and would love to read with you guys:
Sorry to hit you with so many suggestions, but there are a ton of books that I'd like to read... do y'all like any of them or have some suggestions of your own?

I'm in agreement: one fiction, one non-fiction is a good way to spread things without diluting too much.
Of course, if we go from 19 clique members to, say, 190, then 3 or more books may be a good idea. :-D
As for what you've recommended here, I'm always up for Orson Scott Card. His writing is nothing less than phenomenal, so here's a vote for "Lost Boys". "The Historian" also looks interesting, as does "The Savage Detectives", though I gotta tell you, I'm a HUGE fan of paperbacks because they're cheaper. (Most of my hard cover books have been bought in thrift shops.) Then again, going to the library is not out of the question.
However, I'd also like to introduce into the mix the following:
Both of these have I been eyeing for the past couple of months, and both seem incredibly enjoyable.

The Savage Dectives is available in paperback--that's just the first link I found.
I've heard that The Historian is a great book, though somewhat in the vein of The Da Vinci Code (which I really enjoyed, though I know some didn't). If we don't pick this one, I'll let you know how good (or not) it is, but I have very high hopes!

I vote for The Historian, and it isn't really like The Da Vinci Code, as it is an entirely different story line.
I also vote for Portrait of a Lady.

I read The Historian 2 years ago and although being a long book I read it in a couple of days. I found it very good, although very fictional it contained some facts and history I never knew before. Not wanting to spoil the story I'll will not say much. But if you like fiction and history you'll like this book.

As Darice stated, The Historial does contain some historical fact. It's a good read.

Wait, don't we have until the 7th before voting closes off? (Alright, so sure, The Historian probably wins...)

Savage Detectives sounds good; The Historian is INCREDIBLE ... a book I wouldn't mind reading again.

Looks like I'll have to pass on this month's fiction book. I'm looking at my bookshelf now, and there are a few books already waiting for me -- The Dying Earth, The Algebraist, The Solar Cycle, and a ton of short stories. I think it's best I sit this month out.
