I'm really looking forward to the new Indy movie (The Kingdom of Crystal Skull). Simply because: I'm getting a bit tired of seeing 20/30 year old beefed-up hunks playing the heroes in action films. Time for something fresh (or old, depending on semantics). Nostalgia may be playing a part here too, as I loved the movies in my younger years.
USA Today has an article out revealing the first poster for the movie as well as some plot details:
Indiana Jones co-producer Frank Marshall is authorized to confirm some rumors and detail some of the story, about a quest for South American relics with supernatural powers.
When last we saw Indy, he was riding off into the sunset in 1989's The Last Crusade, set in 1938 near the start of World War II. The new movie, due this spring, is set at the height of the Cold War in 1957, so the character has aged in real time — 19 years.
"He's teaching and having kind of a quiet life," the producer says. Once the archaeologist is thrust back into danger, the signature Indiana Jones red line tracing across the map will take him to New Mexico, Connecticut, Mexico City and the jungles of Peru.
The movie will hit theaters in May 22, 2008.

Now that's a poster.
I'd only seen one, which frankly I felt was awkward and ill conceived. You've given me reassurance.

I'm excited about this movie because I love Indy! If only they hadn't gotten that kid from Transformers to play his sidekick. It worries me.
