Can anyone recommend resources for those that want to learn more about soccer?

First and foremost: FIFA.com. Seriously, lots of info there about who's who and who does what, what countries play where, what tournaments and regions exist, and how the association is set up. From there, there are other sites which... I don't know much about. Maybe ESPN's soccernet?

Going to check out FIFA. What I usually do (learning a new sport) is pick a team and them follow them, learning that way. I need a pick a good team and follow them through FIFA.

Thanks Gnorb. :)

Hi Tyme. These might help:

http://www.usyouthsoccer.org/
http://www.ussoccer.com/

Best thing to do, though, is to go to a game. Go to a youth game. Or a local high school game. Or a pro game. If that's not feasible, catch one on TV. Or, watch Fox Soccer Report (each night @ 10pm on Fox Soccer Channel):

http://msn.foxsports.com/foxsoccer

You can find other televised matches (games) via:

http://www.soccertv.com/

If you're ever up in Maine, swing by a training session for one of my brother's clubs youth teams:

If you want real football check out The Football League which covers the championship and leagues 1 and 2 in the UK. (keep an eye out for my team Swansea City FC 1st in league one and 14 points clear) or if you want to find out more about the big guns try The Premier League
