I'm lost, each time I go out for a walk (or to university etc...) I have my cigarets in a pocket, two mobile phones in another, my car keys, a lighter, money and the iPod.
I really can't manage, the iPod sometimes gets scratched by the keys, sometimes I take of off my pocket the V3i instead of the iPod...

How do you manage?

Get an iPod sleeve. They're no more than $5. And if you pay anything higher, you're a chump. I meant that. You hear me? A chump.

Big pockets.
That's how I roll. :)

Quit smoking and there you go :P

But seriously, I find the same problem. I usually clip it on to my belt (I have a clippy case) and if I'm out running or something I have a little arm band that came with the case.

Buy an iPhone. Problem solved.

I had the same problem, so I started carrying a backpack around everywhere. Keep the cigs in the front pocket for easy access and you're all set.

I'd be happy to be a chump as you say, I'm wondering if brands like Armani or Versace are making these kind of sleeves!
And a few days ago it was my birthday, and I've been asked "what do you want for your bday?" and I didn't had any idea :)

Connor Wilson you must have a Nano right? I have a 5th G iPod... Much heavier than the nano to have it in an arm band no?

iPod goes in left-front, phone+keys front-right, and wallet back-right... I don't smoke so the cigs+lighter don't apply to me.

Yeah, I have a new gen Nano, but I know a guy who runs with a 5th G iPod. I guess it improves the workout :P

ahahahahaa!!! LOL he must have huge biceps, but he'd better wear it once in the right arm and once in the left to avoid having a biceps bigger than the other!

I think I have found something very cool here: <http://www.fabrixcases.com/collection/ipod/sleeve/index.html

Yes, iPod sleeves work well, I have used them for a long time. I often go running and have my iPod, my cell phone and keys in the pocket of my running pants, and the sleeve protects the iPod quite well.

It's great to see how many of you are running, as the smoker I am I can only do gym (bodybuilding), maybe someday will I "run" (and quit smoking).

If any of you find a "fashion" sleeve (italian or french "prêt à porter" brand), please notify me :)

Don't take 2 phones? Give one number to everyone, might be a little easier!

Failing that I have a backpack, as most of the time I have my iBook with me as well.

You forgot the camera, the notepad and the book.

I put them in my messenger bag. That's it. Worthless consumer goods dragging me down ;-)

I need two mobile phones (and I have to have both of them with me especially when I travel, that' s when the iPod becomes important too).
It's not really my style to wear a backpack, I hardly imagine myself (with my look) getting out of my car and putting a backpack...

I have a leather portfolio always with me that's all.

I think there was a solution for me: I didn't even mention the headset (I don't use Apple's) Quiet Comfort 3 by Bose, it comes with a leather case and behind there's a place where I can put my iPod, here's a photo (can someone give me the tag to put a photo in the body of a message please?)

For me, I generally use the ipod leather sleeve provided by the pack within it. It generally helps to protect all forms of scratches. That said, I do not put much things in my pocket, other than my keys and my wallet. I prefer bags ^^

What kind of bags Impz?

hahahaha. Just a normal sling bag with a pocket in to dump either my handphone or my ipod in. It's easier. ^^

oh man, im always dropping my video ipod, its so scratched, i dont have a sleeve or anything it's never protected

what i do is i put the ipod in my pocket with a pack of smokes, lighter and keys, thats usually all i carry in my pocket, most of the time when im trying to get to the smokes i'll drop the ipod

its all good though, the ipod still works

My purse is a black hole. And that includes keys in the mix. So, I put my Nano inside a sunglasses sleeve. I dropped it anyway, though, so there's a scratch on the screen. Gah. I'd recommend a permanent sleeve. I really like a particular Acme leather one...seems fashionable enough to me. :)

wallet and keys, front left
phone front right
ipod back right.

Or a man bag. Easy.

I'm thinking about creating a custom "bag", my uncles owns a leather company, I have first to draw something and go to "realize it" there.
I'll try to post a pic once the work is done.

Today I suffered a lot, I went to have a coffee then play pool, I took a book with me (pocket book), the iPod, the iPod speakers, my smoke and light, my car keys and my two mobile phones, I was unable to salute anybody so much my hands were full.. :p

Oh man, what a great post. I've been looking at this headline for days but only now read it.

Here's my solution, and I love thinking about stuff like this:

1. Wallet made from a Fossil Gift Card Tin. I bought a hoodie and they hooked me up. It can hold three or four credit/debit cards, my bus pass, and a few dollars. Not to mention that it could probably stop a bullet if you're in that type of field.

2. Cigarettes in the back right pocket. I try to roll with just enough smokes so that the lighter can fit in the pack.

3. Cell phone in the 5th pocket. I've yet to have a phone that didn't fit perfectly into that little guy. Until iPhone, that is.

4. Keys with a little clip to hook onto a belt loop. Careful though, this can either have you looking like Batman or like Batman's janitor.

5. Finally, get a shuffle. Most days I can't listen to every track on the thing anyway, and it's small enough to fit in any pocket.

I wear pretty tight pants, too.

But I guess what you might want to ask yourself is why two cell phones? Why in the world would you take a book to play pool? Are speakers really necessary, assuming that you're at a bar, I think it'd be a little rude to play your own tunes over the bar's jukebox. And... salute?!?

That's awesome.

The little clip idea is super cool (so simple and I already have many!).
Cigs in the back pocket's risky because I'm always "away" and I'm sure I'll sit on them (many times a day).
I don't really need a shuffle because I already have a Motorola V3i + iTunes, it works like an iPod (when I connect it to the Mac etc...).

For the "book stuff" I was at the Pool's café and I always have to read something, then I was too lazy to go back to the car to throw the book there.

Two mobile phones: Two different carriers, one is better for international calls while the other is better for local calls (I need to do that because I spend more than 6 hours a day on the phone: huge bills and huge battery consumption).

It wouldn't be an ipod to me if it wasn't covered in scratches.
