Bon Echo isn't a fork, mate... It was the codename for FF2.0 before it hit alpha1... There are optimised builds but if yours has Bon Echo plastered all over it, it's an ancient version =)

You should be able to find a newer optimised nightly somewhere.

Hmm...I'm running 2.0.0.2, which is also the version listed on the front page of Mozilla.com. It also uses the 'Aqua' form widgets instead of the standard Firefox ones. And anytime there's an update to Firefox there's an update for my browser shortly afterwards. In any event, It sure doesn't seem like alpha software.

In no particular order:

Amarok
Gimp
Gaim
gFTP

Safari, Mail, iChat, iTunes, Transmission

My Windows machine is going on four years old, the VGA slot decided to started malfunctioning so I am running off my on board card which limits a lot of things. That's all changing in a month as I am working to build a new system :)

Edit: @ Rich: Who needs a virus scanner and anti-spyware when you run Firefox and can identify viruses and take care of them without flinching, right? ^_^

iChat
GIMP
Open Office
Safari
Moody

I'll post my Windows and Linux apps:

Windows:
Firefox (which handles email, IM [meebo], and music [Pandora])
XChat (IRC)
Notepad++ (text editing)

I don't use much more than that. Occasionally I get hooked on a game (like Sauerbraten or AssaultCube - both free games), and I play it constantly for two days and then forget about it. I'm not including any of those on this list.

Linux:
Firefox
XChat
Gedit
The GIMP
GAIM (meebo is sometimes messed up in Firefox)

I need a Mac

A lot of my apps have already been mentioned, so I won't repeat unnecessarily, but:

1. Coda
2. XAMPP for Mac
3. Play
