Visor is a nifty piece of software which lets you open a Quake-style terminal at the top of your screen in a keystroke, meaning you don't need to open a window just to quickly ask bc what 5+5=!
It's made by the same fellas as Quicksilver and it's attractive utilising Quartz etc.

I tried it, it's nifty, but I really found it a lot worse than just opening up a terminal. It didn't speed anything up, and I didn't like having it sit there residing in memory all the time.

A use for it is when you're trying to copy commands off a webpage... no switching between webpages!
